The Book “Odisha me Jain Dharm” Authored by Porf. Lal Chand Jain in Hindi is a right step in bringing to limelight the glorious heritage of this land connected with Jainsim and Kharavel for the benefit of the Hindi speaking people. It is indeed a long felt need and the Utkal University of Culture have done a lot of work in this regard under the able guidance of Porf. Jain.
Jainism grounded in reality of life and living with liberality of mind and a broad outlook of universal piety became popular in Orissa right from the beginning. In spite of the recognition of the status of Tribarna and jain Siddhant the preaching of Mahavira and the practice of Kharavel loosened the rigidity of casteism and created favourable social system opening of the flood gates for the poor and lowly.
