in it. According to the Sangraha Naya, the Jiva is one and the same far as the soul is concerned. From the view point of the 'vyavahāra-naya' each and every Jiva is parted with, i.e. it is divided into two parts according to the knowledge and appaerance, into three parts according to the 'Karma-letna' or 'Phrowge-utpāda' and 'Vināśa', into four parts because of its wandering in the four-fold motion; into five parts from the view point of Pariņāmikādi' five states; into six parts due to the accession to the six directions, such as the East, West, North, South, up-ward and down-ward at the time of transgression to other birth; into seven parts according to the seven kinds of 'Syādasti-Syádnāsti'; into eight parts according to the eight *Karmas'; into nine parts as it changes into the aine substances; and into ten parts from the view point of the *Prithivi-Kāyika', 'Jala Kāyika', 'Agni-Käyika', 'Wāyu-Kāyika', 'Pratyeka Vanaspati-Kāyika', 'Sadhārana Vanaspati-Káyika' species having two organs, species having three organs, species having four organs, and species having five organs.
