The personification of Sruta-Puruşa' too, is found in the Jain-tradition. The twelve Āgamas, Āćara etc., are like the parts of the 'Sruta Puruşa'. They are, therefore, called the twelve Angas'. So the Dwādaśānga becomes the adjective of the Gaņipitaka and the Śruta-Puruşa' both.
AYĀRO
The title
This Āgama is the first Anga of the 'Dwādaśängi'. As it contains the account of the conduct (Āćāra), the title 'ĀYĀRO'. It has two Srutaskandhas-1. ĀYĀRO, 2. ĀYĀRAČULA
The Contents
The Samawāyānga and the Nandi give an account of the Alaränga According to that the present Sūtra explains the Acara, Goćar. Vinava Vainavika (fruit of vinaya), (Utthitāsana, Nişaņāsana and Sayitāsana). Gamana, camkramaņa. Dose of food etc., application of Yoga in self study ste language, Samiti, Gupti, Sayya, Upadhi, Bhakta-Pāna (edibles and drinks), Udgama-Utthana, the purity of 'eşņā (motives) etc. the discernma of taking Suddhāśuddha, Vșita, Niyama, Tapas, Updhan etc.
Ādārya Umāswāti has expounded the topics of every Adhyayana in the Aläränga in brief That is given in the order as under :3
1. Sadajīvakāya Yātnā. 2. Renunciating the glory of the wordly off-springs. 3. Winning over of the Parișahas, such as cold-hot etc. 4. Undaunted Samyaktwa. 5. Udvegas of the world. 6. The means of nullifying the ‘Karmas' (deeds). 7. The endeavour to `Vaiyavritya'. 8. The way to penance.
