सत्तरहवाँ लेश्यापद / द्वितीय उद्देशक ] [277 नारकों की अपेक्षा नीललेश्या वाले नारक असंख्यातगुणे इसलिए होते हैं कि नीललेश्या कतिपय तृतीय पृथ्वी के, चौथी पृथ्वी के और कतिपय पंचम पृथ्वी के नारकों में पाई जाती है और ये पूर्वोक्त नारकों से असंख्यातगुणे अधिक हैं। नीललेश्यी नारकों की अपेक्षा कापोतलेश्या वाले नारक इसलिए असंख्यातगुणे अधिक हैं कि कापोतलेश्या प्रथम एवं द्वितीय पृथ्वी के तथा तृतीय पृथ्वी के कतिपय नरकावासों में पाई जाती है और वे नारक पूर्वोक्त नारकों से असंख्यातगुणे अधिक हैं / ' __तियंचों के अल्पबहुत्व में समुच्चय से विशेषता समुच्चय सलेश्य जीवों के अल्पबहुत्व की तरह तिर्यंचों के अल्पबहुत्व का निर्देश किया गया है, परन्तु समुच्चय से एक विशेषता यह है कि समुच्चय में अलेश्य का भी अल्पबहुत्व कहा गया है, जिसे तिर्यंचों में नहीं कहना चाहिए, क्योंकि तिर्यञ्चों में अलेश्य होना संभव नहीं है। एकेन्द्रियों के अल्पबहुत्व की समीक्षा—एकेन्द्रियों में 4 लेश्याएँ ही पाई जाती हैं---कृष्ण, नील, कापोत और तेजस् / अतः यहाँ इन्हीं चारों लेश्याओं से विशिष्ट एकेन्द्रियों का ही अल्पबहुत्व प्रदर्शित किया गया है। सबसे कम एकेन्द्रिय तेजोलेश्या वाले इसलिए हैं कि तेजोलेश्या कतिपय बादर पृथ्वीकायिक, अप्कायिक और प्रत्येक वनस्पतिकायिक जीवों के अपर्याप्त अवस्था में ही पाई जाती है। तेजोलेश्याविशिष्ट एकेन्द्रियों की अपेक्षा कापोतलेश्या वाले अनन्तगुणे अधिक हैं, क्योंकि कापोतलेश्या अनन्त सूक्ष्म एवं बादर निगोद जीवों में पाई जाती है। कापोतलेश्या वालों से नीललेश्या वाले और इनसे कृष्णलेश्या वाले एकेन्द्रिय पूर्वोक्त युक्ति के अनुसार विशेषाधिक कहे गए हैं। पृथ्वी-जल-बनस्पतिकायिकों में चार लेश्याएँ होने के कारण इनका अल्पबहुत्व समुच्चय एकेन्द्रिय के समान है और तेजस्काय, वायकाय में कृष्ण, नील, कापोत तीनही लेश्याएँ हैं। अत: तेजोलेश्या को छोड़कर शेष तीन लेश्याओं वाले तेजस्कायिकों एवं वायुकायिकों का अल्पबहुत्व बताया गया है। सबसे अल्प कापोतलेश्यी, उनसे विशेषाधिक क्रमशः नीललेश्यी और कृष्णलेश्यी हैं। यही अल्पबहुत्व विकलेन्द्रियों में निदिष्ट है। कृष्णादिलेश्याविशिष्ट पंचेन्द्रियतिर्यञ्चों का दशविध अल्पबहुत्व-यों तो समुच्चय तिर्यञ्चों के अल्पबहुत्व के समान ही है, किन्तु जैसे समुच्चय तिर्यञ्च कापोतलेश्या वाले अनन्तगुणे बताए हैं, वैसे कापोतलेश्या वाले पंचेन्द्रियतिर्यञ्च अनन्त नहीं हो सकते, किन्तु वे असंख्यातगुणे हैं, क्योंकि सभी पंचेन्द्रियतिर्यञ्च मिलकर भी असंख्यात ही हैं। सामान्य पंचेन्द्रियतिर्यञ्च के इस सूत्र के साथ ही निम्नोक्त विशिष्ट पंचेन्द्रियतिर्यञ्चों के आठ और एक समुच्चय तिर्यंचों का, यों 9 सूत्र और हैं.–यथा--(२) सम्मूच्छिम पंचेन्द्रियतिथंच का (3) गर्भज पंचेन्द्रियतिर्यञ्च का, (4) गर्भज पंचेन्द्रियतिथंच स्त्रियों का, (5) गर्भज पंचेन्द्रियतिर्यचों और सम्मूच्छिम पंचेन्द्रियतियंचों का सम्मिलित, (6) सम्मूच्छिम पंचेन्द्रियतिर्यञ्चों और तियंचस्त्रियों का, (7) गर्भज पंचेन्द्रियतिर्यंचों और तिर्यञ्चस्त्रियों का, (8) सम्मूच्छिम एवं गर्भज 1.
