पन्द्रहवाँ इन्द्रियपद : प्रथम उद्देशक ] [ 157 गोयमा ! सव्वत्थोवे बेइंदियाणं जिभिदिए प्रोगाहणद्वयाए, फासें दिए प्रोगाहणट्टयाए संखेज्जगुणे; पएसद्वयाए-सम्वत्थोवे बेइंदियाणं जिभिदिए पएसट्टयाए, फासेंदिए पएसट्टयाए संखेज्जगुणे; प्रोगाहणपएसट्टयाए सम्वत्थोवे बेइंदियस्स जिभिदिए प्रोगाहणट्टयाए, फासिदिए प्रोगाहणद्वयाए संखेज्जगुणे, फासेंदियस्स प्रोगाहणट्टयाएहितो जिभिदिए पएसट्टयाए अणतगुणे, फासिदिए पएसट्ठयाए संखेज्जगुणे। [987-2 प्र.] भगवन् ! इन द्वीन्द्रियों की जिह्वन्द्रिय और स्पर्शनेन्द्रिय में से अवगाहना की अपेक्षा से, प्रदेशों की अपेक्षा से तथा अवगाहना और प्रदेशों (दोनों) की अपेक्षा से कौन, किससे अल्प, बहुत, तुल्य अथवा विशेषाधिक है ? - [987-2 उ.] गौतम ! अवगाहना की अपेक्षा से द्वीन्द्रियों की जिह्वन्द्रिय सबसे कम है, (उससे) अवगाहना की दृष्टि से संख्यातगुणी (उनकी) स्पर्शनेन्द्रिय है। प्रदेशों की अपेक्षा से-सबसे कम द्वीन्द्रिय की जिह्वन्द्रिय है, (उसकी अपेक्षा) प्रदेशों की अपेक्षा से उनको स्पर्शनेन्द्रिय है / अवगाहना और प्रदेशों की अपेक्षा से-द्वीन्द्रियों की जिह्वन्द्रिय अवगाहना की अपेक्षा से सबसे कम है, (उससे उनकी) स्पर्शनेन्द्रिय अवगाहना की अपेक्षा से संख्यातगुणी अधिक है, स्पर्शनेन्द्रिय की अवगाहनार्थता से जिह्वन्द्रिय प्रदेशों की अपेक्षा से अनन्तगुणी है / (उसकी अपेक्षा) स्पर्शनेन्द्रिय प्रदेशों की अपेक्षा से संख्यातगुणी है। [3] बेइंदियाणं भंते ! जिभिदियस्स केवइया कक्खडगरुयगुणा पण्णत्ता? गोयमा ! अणंता / एवं फासेंदियस्स वि / एवं मउयलहुयगुणा वि। [687-3 प्र.] भगवन् ! द्वीन्द्रियों की जिह्वन्द्रिय के कितने कर्कश-गुरुगुण कहे गए हैं ? [987-3 उ.] गौतम ! (इनकी जिह्वेन्द्रिय के कर्कश-गुरु गुण) अनन्त हैं / इसी प्रकार इनकी स्पर्शनेन्द्रिय के भी (कर्कश-गुरु गुण अनन्त समझने चाहिए।) इसी तरह (इनकी जिह्वन्द्रिय और स्पर्शनेन्द्रिय के) मृदु-लघु गुण भी (अनन्त समझने चाहिए।) [4] एतेसि णं भंते ! बेइंदियाणं जिभिदिय-फासेंदियाणं कक्खडगरुयगुणाणं मउयलयगुणाणं कक्खडगरुयगुण-मउयलहुयगुणाण य कतरे कतरेहितो अप्पा वा 4 ? गोयमा ! सवथोवा बेइंदियाणं जिभिदियस्स कक्खडगरुय गुणा, फासेंदियस्स कक्खडगरुयगुणा अणंतगुणा, फासेंदियस्स कक्खडगस्यगुहितो तस्स चेव मउयलहुयगुणा अणंतगुणा, जिभिदियस्स मउयलहुयगुणा अणंतगुणा। [987-4 प्र.] भगवन ! इन द्वीन्द्रियों की जिह्वन्द्रिय और स्पर्शनेन्द्रिय के कर्कश-गुरुगुणों तथा मृदु-लघुगुणों में से कौन, किनसे अल्प, बहुत, तुल्य अथवा विशेषाधिक हैं ? [987-4 उ.] गौतम ! सबसे थोड़े द्वीन्द्रियों के जिह्वन्द्रिय के कर्कश-गुरुगुण हैं, (उनसे) स्पर्शनेन्द्रिय के कर्कश-गुरुगुण अनन्तगुणे हैं। स्पर्शनेन्द्रिय के कर्कश-गुरुगुणों से उसी (इन्द्रिय) के मृदुलघुगुण अनन्तगुणे हैं (और उससे भी) जिह्वन्द्रिय के मृदु-लघुगुण अनन्तगुणे हैं /
