[1] जहण्णठितीयाणं भंते ! मस्साणं केवतिया पज्जवा पण्णत्ता? गोयमा ! अणंता पज्जवा पण्णत्ता / से केणढेणं भंते ! एवं बुच्चति ? गोयमा ! जहणठितीए मणुस्से जहष्णठितीयस्स मणूसस्स दवट्ठयाए तुल्ले, पदेसट्टयाए तुल्ले, प्रोगाहणटुयाए चउढाणवडिते, ठितोए तुल्ले, वण्ण-गंध-रस-फासपज्जवेहि दोहि अण्णाणेहिं दोहि दसणेहि छट्ठाणवडिते। [490-1 प्र. भगवन् ! जघन्य स्थिति वाले मनुष्यों के कितने पर्याय कहे गए हैं ? [490-1 उ.] गौतम ! उनके अनन्त पर्याय कहे हैं। [प्र.] भगवन् ! किस कारण से ऐसा कहा जाता है कि जघन्य स्थिति वाले मनुष्यों के अनन्त पर्याय हैं ? [उ.] गौतम ! एक जघन्य स्थिति वाला मनुष्य, दूसरे जघन्य स्थिति वाले मनुष्य से द्रव्य की अपेक्षा से तुल्य है, प्रदेशों की अपेक्षा से तुल्य है, अवगाहना की अपेक्षा से चतुःस्थानपतित है, स्थिति की अपेक्षा से तुल्य है, तथा वर्ण, गन्ध, रस और स्पर्श के पर्यायों की अपेक्षा से, दो अज्ञानों और दो दर्शनों की अपेक्षा से षट्स्थानपतित है। [2] एवं उक्कोसठितोए वि / नवरं दो णाणा, दो अण्णाणा, दो दंसणा। [490-2] उत्कृष्ट स्थिति वाले मनुष्यों के (पर्यायों के विषय में) भी इसी प्रकार कहना चाहिए / विशेष यह है कि (उनमें) दो ज्ञान, दो अज्ञान और दो दर्शन (पाए जाते) हैं। [3] अजहण्णमणुककोसठितीए वि एवं चेव / नवरं ठितीए चउट्ठाणवड़िते प्रोगाहणट्टयाए चउट्ठाणवडिए, आदिल्लेहिं च उनाहिं छट्ठाणवडिते, केवल नाणपज्जवेहि तुल्ले, तिहि अण्णाहिं तिहिं दसणेहि छट्ठाणवडिते, केवलदसणपज्जवेहि तुल्ले / [490-3] मध्यमस्थिति वाले मनुष्यों का पर्यायविषयक कथन भी इसी प्रकार करना चाहिए / विशेष यह है कि स्थिति की अपेक्षा से चतुःस्थानपतित है, अवगाहना की दृष्टि से चतुःस्थानपतित है, तथा आदि के चार ज्ञानों को अपेक्षा से षट्स्थानपतित है, केवलज्ञान के पर्यायों की अपेक्षा से तुल्य है, एवं तीन अज्ञानों और तीन दर्शनों की अपेक्षा से षट्स्थानपतित है तथा केवलदर्शन के पर्यायों की अपेक्षा से तुल्य है / 461.
