प्रथम प्रतिपत्ति : पृथ्वीकाय का वर्णन [35 उ.-गौतम ! एकगुण कर्कश का भी आहार करते हैं और अनन्तगुण कर्कश का भी प्राहार करते हैं / इस प्रकार यावत् रूक्षस्पर्श तक जान लेना चाहिए। प्र.-भंते ! वे आत्म-प्रदेशों से स्पृष्ट का आहार करते हैं या अस्पृष्ट का आहार करते हैं ? उ.--गौतम ! स्पृष्ट का आहार करते हैं, अस्पृष्ट का नहीं। प्र.-भंते ! वे प्रात्म-प्रदेशों में अवगाढ पुद्गलों का आहार करते हैं या अनवगाढ का? उ.-गौतम ! आत्म-प्रदेशों में अवगाढ पुद्गलों का आहार करते हैं, अनवगाढ का नहीं। प्र.---भंते ! वे अनन्तर-अवगाढ पुद्गलों का आहार करते हैं या परम्परा से अवगाढ पुद्गलों का प्रहार करते हैं ? उ.-गौतम ! अनन्तर-अवगाढ पुद्गलों का आहार करते हैं, परम्परावगाढ का नहीं / प्र.-भंते ! वे अणु-थोड़े प्रमाण वाले पुद्गलों का पाहार करते हैं या बादर-अधिक प्रमाण वाले पुद्गलों का आहार करते हैं ? उ.-गौतम ! वे थोड़े प्रमाण वाले पुदगलों का भी आहार करते हैं और अधिक प्रमाण वाले वाले पुद्गलों का भी पाहार करते हैं / प्र.-भंते ! क्या वे ऊपर, नीचे या तिर्यक् स्थित पुद्गलों का आहार करते हैं ? उ.-गौतम ! वे ऊपर स्थित पुद्गलों का भी आहार करते हैं, नीचे स्थित पुद्गलों का भी पाहार करते हैं और तिरछे स्थित पुद्गलों का भी प्राहार करते हैं। प्र.-भंते ! क्या वे ग्रादि, मध्य और अन्त में स्थित पुद्गलों का आहार करते हैं ? उ.-गौतम ! वे आदि में स्थित पुद्गलों का भी आहार करते हैं, मध्य में स्थित पुद्गलों का भी ग्राहार करते हैं और अन्त में स्थित पुद्गलों का भी पाहार करते हैं। प्र.-भंते ! क्या वे अपने योग्य पुद्गलों का आहार करते हैं या अपने अयोग्य पुद्गलों का पाहार करते हैं ? उ.-गौतम ! वे अपने योग्य पुदगलों का आहार करते हैं, अयोग्य पुद्गलों का नहीं। प्र.--भंते ! क्या वे प्रानुपूर्वी-समीपस्थ पुद्गलों का पाहार करते हैं या अनानुपूर्वी-दूरस्थ पुद्गलों का आहार करते हैं ? उ.-गौतम ! वे समीपस्थ पुद्गलों का प्राहार करते हैं, दूरस्थ पुद्गलों का पाहार नहीं करते। प्र.-भंते ! क्या वे तीन दिशाओं, चार दिशाओं, पाँच दिशानों और छह दिशाओं में स्थित पुद्गलों का आहार करते हैं ? उ.-गौतम ! व्याघात न हो तो छहों दिशाओं के पुद्गलों का आहार करते हैं / व्याघात हो तो तीन दिशाओं, कभी चार दिशाओं और कभी पाँच दिशाओं में स्थित पुद्गलों का ग्राहार करते हैं। प्रायः विशेष करके वे जीव कृष्ण, नील यावत् शुक्ल वर्ण वाले पुद्गलों का पाहार करते हैं। गन्ध से सुरभिगंध दुरभिगंध वाले, रस से तिक्त यावत् मधुररस वाले, स्पर्श से कर्कश मृदु यावत् स्निग्धरूक्ष पुद्गलों का आहार करते हैं।
