[जीवाजीवाभिगमसूत्र पीइगमाणं मणोगमाणं मणोरमाणं मणोहराणं अमियगईणं अमियबलवोरिय-पुरिसकार-परक्कमाणं महया गंभोरगुलगुलाइरवेणं महुरेणं मणहरेणं पूरेता अंबरं दिसाम्रो य सोमयंता चत्तारि देवसाहस्सीओ गयरूवधारीणं देवाणं दक्खिणिल्लं वाहं परिवहति / / 194 (मा) उस चन्द्रविमान को दक्षिण की तरफ से चार हजार देव हाथी का रूप धारण कर उठाते वहन करते हैं। उन हाथियों का वर्णन इस प्रकार है-वे हाथी श्वेत हैं, सुन्दर हैं, सुप्रभा वाले हैं। उनकी कांति शंखतल के समान विमल-निर्मल है, जमे हुए दही की तरह, गाय के दूध, फेन और चाँदी के निकर की तरह उनकी कान्ति श्वेत है। उनके वज्रमय कुम्भ-युगल के नीचे रही हुई सुन्दर मोटी सूड में जिन्होंने क्रोडार्थ रक्तपद्मों के प्रकाश को ग्रहण किया हुआ है (कहीं-कहीं ऐसा देखा जाता है कि जब हाथी युवावस्था में वर्तमान रहता है तो उसके कुभस्थल से लेकर शुण्डादण्ड तक स्वतः ही पद्मप्रकाश के समान बिन्दु उत्पन्न हो जाया करते हैं--उसका यहां उल्लेख है) उनके मुख ऊंचे उठे हुए हैं, वे तपनीय स्वर्ण के विशाल, चंचल और चपल हिलते हुए विमल कानों से सुशोभित हैं, शहद वर्ण के चमकते हुए स्निग्ध पीले और पक्ष्मयुक्त तथा मणिरत्न की तरह त्रिवर्ण श्वेत कृष्ण पीत वर्ण वाले उनके नेत्र हैं, अतएव वे नेत्र उन्नत मृदुल मल्लिका के कोरक जैसे प्रतीत होते हैं, उनके दांत सफेद, एक सरीखे, मजबूत, परिणत अवस्था वाले, सुदृढ, सम्पूर्ण एवं स्फटिकमय होने से सुजात हैं और मूसल की उपमा से शोभित हैं, इनके दांतों के अग्रभाग पर स्वर्ण के वलय पहनाये गये हैं अतएव ये दांत ऐसे मालूम होते हैं मानो विमल मणियों के बीच चांदी का ढेर हों। इनके मस्तक पर तपनीय स्वर्ण के विशाल तिलक आदि आभूषण पहनाये हुए हैं, नाना मणियों से निमित ऊर्ध्व ग्रैवेयक आदि कंठ के प्राभरण गले में पहनाये हुए हैं। जिनके गण्डस्थलों के मध्य में वैडूर्यरत्न के विचित्र दण्ड वाले निर्मल वज्रमय तीक्ष्ण एवं सुन्दर अंकुश स्थापित किये हुए हैं / तपनीय स्वर्ण की रस्सी से पीठ का आस्तरण-झूले बहुत ही अच्छी तरह सजाकर एवं कसकर बांधा गया है अतएव ये दर्प से युक्त और बल से उद्धत बने हुए हैं, जम्बूनद स्वर्ण के बने घनमंडल वाले और वज्रमय लाला से ताडित तथा आसपास नाना मणिरत्नों की छोटी-छोटी घंटिकाओं से युक्त रत्नमयी रज्जु में लटके दो बड़े घंटों के मधुर स्वर से वे मनोहर लगते हैं। उनकी पूछे चरणों तक लटकती हुई हैं, गोल हैं तथा उनमें सुजात और प्रशस्त लक्षण वाले बाल हैं जिनसे वे हाथी अपने शरीर को पोंछते रहते हैं। मांसल अवयवों के कारण परिपूर्ण कच्छप की तरह उनके पांव होते हुए भी वे शीघ्र गति वाले हैं। अंकरत्न के उनके नख हैं, तपनीय स्वर्ण के जोतों द्वारा वे जोते हए है। वे इच्छानुसार ग हैं, प्रीतिपूर्वक गति करने वाले हैं, मन को अच्छे लगने वाले हैं, मनोरम हैं, मनोहर हैं, अपरिमित गति वाले हैं, अपरिमित बल-वीर्य-पुरुषकार-पराक्रम वाले हैं। अपने बहुत गंभीर एवं मनोहर गुलगुलाने की ध्वनि से आकाश को पूरित करते हैं और दिशाओं को सुभोभित करते हैं। (इस प्रकार चार हजार हाथी रूपधारी देव चन्द्रविमान को दक्षिण दिशा से उठाकर गति करते रहते हैं।) 194.
