62] [जीवाजीवाभिगमसूत्र उक्त घृतवरद्वीप को घृतोद नामक समुद्र चारों ओर से घेरकर स्थित है। वह गोल और वलय की प्राकृति से संस्थित है। वह समचक्रवालसंस्थान वाला है / पूर्ववत् द्वार, प्रदेशस्पर्शना, जीवोत्पत्ति और नाम का प्रयोजन सम्बन्धी प्रश्न कहने चाहिए। गौतम ! घृतोदसमुद्र का पानी गोघृत के मंड (सार) के जैसा श्रेष्ठ है।' (घी के ऊपर जमे हुए थर को मंड कहते हैं) यह गोषतमंड फूले हुए सल्लकी, कनेर के फूल, सरसों के फूल, कोरण्ट की माला की तरह पोले वर्ण का होता है, स्निग्धता के गुण से युक्त होता है, अग्निसंयोग से चमकवाला होता है, यह निरुपहत और विशिष्ट सुन्दरता से युक्त होता है, अच्छी तरह जमाये हुए दही को अच्छी तरह मथित करने पर प्राप्त मक्खन को उसी समय तपाये जाने पर, अच्छी तरह उकाले जाने पर उसे अन्यत्र न ले जाते हुए उसी स्थान पर तत्काल छानकर कचरे आदि के उपशान्त होने पर उस पर जो थर जम जाती, वह जैसे अधिक सुगन्ध से सुगन्धित, मनोहर, मधुर-परिणाम वाली और दर्शनी है, वह पथ्यरूप, निर्मल और सुखोपभोग्य होती है, ऐसे शरत्कालीन गोघृतवरमंड के समान वह घृतोद का पानी होता है क्या, यह पूछने पर भगवान् कहते हैं- गौतम! वह घृतोद का पानी इससे भी अधिक इष्टतर यावत् मन को तृप्त करने वाला है। वहां कान्त और सुकान्त नाम के दो महद्धिक देव रहते हैं / शेष सब कथन पूर्ववत् करना चाहिए यावत् वहां संख्यात तारागण-कोटिकोटि शोभित होती थी, शोभित होती है और शोभित होगी। 182.
