234] [जीवाजोवाभिगमसूत्र सत्तमाए भवधारणिज्जा पंच धणुसयाई, उत्तरवेउब्धिए घणुसहस्सं। [86] (3) हे भगवन् ! इस रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी के नैरयिकों को शरीर-अवगाहना कितनी कही गई है ? गौतम ! दो प्रकार की शरीरावगाहना कही गई हैं, यथा-भवधारणीय और उत्तरवैक्रिय / भवधारणीय अवगाहना जघन्य से अंगुल का असंख्यातवां भाग और उत्कृष्ट से सात धनुष, तीन हाथ और छह अंगुल है। उत्तरवैक्रिय अवगाहना जघन्य से अंगुल का संख्यातवां भाग, उत्कृष्ट से पन्द्रह धनुष, अढाई हाथ है। दूसरी शर्कराप्रभा के नैरयिकों की भवधारणीय अवगाहना जघन्य से अंगुल का प्रसंख्यातवां भाग, उत्कृष्ट पन्द्रह धनुष अढाई हाथ है। उत्तरवैक्रिय जघन्य से अंगुल का संख्यातवां भाग, उत्कृष्ट से इकतीस धनुष एक हाथ है। तीसरी नरक में भवधारणीय इकतीस धनुष, एक हाथ और उत्तरवैक्रिय बासठ धनुष दो हाथ है / चौथी नरक में भवधारणीय बासठ धनुष दो हाथ है और उत्तरवैक्रिय एक सौ पचीस धनुष है। पांचवीं नरक में भवधारणीय एक सौ पचीस धनुष और उत्तरवैक्रिय अढाई सौ धनुष है। छठी नरक में भवधारणीय अढाई सौ धनुष और उत्तरवक्रिय पांच सौ धनुष है। " सातवीं नरक में भवधारणीय पांच सौ धनुष है और उत्तरवैक्रिय एक हजार धनुष है / विवेचन-प्रस्तुत सूत्र में नैरयिकों के शरीर की अवगाहना का कथन किया गया है। इनके शरीर की अवगाहना दो प्रकार की है। एक भवधारण के समय होने वाली और दूसरी वैक्रियलब्धि से की जाने वाली उत्तरवैक्रियिकी। दोनों प्रकार की प्रवगादता जघन्य और कल के भेद से दो प्रकार की है। इस तरह प्रत्येक नरक के नारक की चार तरह की अवगाहना का प्ररूपण किया गया है / (1) रत्नप्रभा के नैरयिकों की भवधारणीय अवगाहना जघन्य से अंगुल का असंख्यातवां भाग है और उत्कृष्ट से सात धनुष तीन हाथ और छह अंगुल है / उत्तरवैक्रिय जघन्य से अंगुल का संख्येय भाग और उत्कर्ष से पन्द्रह धनुष, दो हाथ और एक वेंत (दो वेंत का एक हाथ होता है) अतः मूल में ढाई हाथ कहा गया है / (2) शर्कराप्रभा में भवधारणीय जघन्य से अंगुल का असंख्यातवां भाग और उत्कर्ष से 15 धनुष, 2 // हाथ है / उत्तरवैक्रिय जघन्य से अंगुल का संख्यातवां भाग और उत्कर्ष से 31 धनुष 1 हाथ है। इसी प्रकार आगे की पृथ्वियों में भी भवधारणीय जघन्य से अंगुल का असंख्यातवां भाग और उत्तरवैक्रिय जघन्य से अंगुल का संख्यातवां भाग कहना चाहिए / क्योंकि तथाविध प्रयत्न के अभाव
