तृतीव प्रतिपति : अवगाहनावार] [233 हे भगवन् ! इस रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी के नैरयिकों का प्रतिसमय एक-एक का अपहार करने पर कितने काल में यह रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी खाली हो सकती है? गौतम ! नैरयिक जीव असंख्यात हैं / प्रतिसमय एक-एक नैरयिक का अपहार किया जाय तो प्रसंख्यात उत्सपिणियां असंख्यात अवसर्पिणियां बीत जाने पर भी यह खाली नहीं हो सकते। इसी प्रकार सातवीं पृथ्वी तक कहना चाहिए / विवेचन-नारकजीवों की संख्या बताने के लिए असत्कल्पना के द्वारा यह प्रतिपादित किया गया है कि प्रतिसमय एक-एक नारक का अपहार किया जाय तो असंख्यात उत्सपिणियां और असंख्यात अवसपिणियां बीतने पर उनका अपहार होता है। इस प्रकार का अपहार न तो कभी हुआ, न होता है और न होगा ही / यह केवल कल्पना मात्र है, जो नारक जीवों को संख्या बताने के लिए की गई है। अवगाहनाद्वार 86.
