तृतीय प्रतिपत्ति : सर्व जीव-पुद्गलों का उत्पाद] [213 [77] हे भगवन् ! क्या इस रत्नप्रभावृथ्वी में सब जीव पहले काल-क्रम से उत्पन्न हुए हैं तथा युगपत् (एक साथ) उत्पन्न हुए हैं ? गौतम ! इस रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी में कालक्रम से सब जीव पहले उत्पन्न हुए हैं किन्तु सब जीव एक साथ रत्नप्रभा में उत्पन्न नहीं हुए। इसी प्रकार सप्तम पृथ्वी तक प्रश्न और उत्तर कहने चाहिए। हे भगवन् ! यह रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी कालक्रम से सब जीवों के द्वारा पूर्व में परित्यक्त है क्या ? तथा सब जीवों के द्वारा पूर्व में एक साथ छोड़ी गई है क्या ? गौतम ! यह रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी कालक्रम से सब जीवों के द्वारा पूर्व में परित्यक्त है परन्तु सब जीवों ने पूर्व में एक साथ इसे नहीं छोड़ा है। इसी प्रकार सप्तम पृथ्वी तक प्रश्नोत्तर कहने चाहिए। हे भगवन् ! इस रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी में कालक्रम से सब पुद्गल पहले प्रविष्ट हुए हैं क्या ? तथा क्या एक साथ सब पुद्गल इसमें पूर्व में प्रविष्ट हुए हैं ? गौतम ! इस रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी में कालक्रम से सब पुद्गल पहले प्रविष्ट हुए हैं परन्तु एक साथ सब पुद्गल पूर्व में प्रविष्ट नहीं हुए हैं / इसी प्रकार सातवीं पृथ्वी तक कहना चाहिए। हे भगवन् ! यह रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी कालक्रम से सब पुद्गलों के द्वारा पूर्व में परित्यक्त है क्या ? तथा सब पुद्गलों ने एक साथ इसे छोड़ा है क्या ? गौतम ! यह रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी कालक्रम से सब पुद्गलों द्वारा पूर्व में परित्यक्त है परन्तु सब पुद्गलों द्वारा एक साथ पूर्व में परित्यक्त नहीं है। इस प्रकार सप्तम पृथ्वी तक कहना चाहिए। विवेचन-प्रस्तुत सूत्र में प्रश्न किया गया है कि क्या संसार के सब जीवों और सब पुद्गलों ने रत्नप्रभा आदि पृथ्वियों में गमन और परिणमन किया है ? प्रश्न का प्राशय यह है कि क्या सब जीव रत्नप्रभा आदि में कालक्रम से उत्पन्न हुए हैं या एक साथ सब जीव उत्पन्न हुए हैं ? पुद्गलों के सम्बन्ध में भी रत्नप्रभादि के रूप में कालक्रम से या युगपत् परिणमन को लेकर प्रश्न समझना चाहिए। भगवान् ने कहा—गौतम! इस रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी में सब जीव कालक्रम से--अलग-अलग समय में पहले उत्पन्न हुए हैं / यहाँ सब जीवों से तात्पर्य संव्यवहार राशि वाले जीव ही समझने चाहिए, अब्यवहार राशि के जीव नहीं। संसार अनादिकालीन होने से अलग-अलग समय में सब जीव रत्नप्रभा आदि में उत्पन्न हुए हैं। परन्तु सब जीव एक साथ रत्नप्रभादि में उत्पन्न नहीं हुए। यदि सब जीव एक साथ रत्नप्रभादि में उत्पन्न हो जाएँ तो देव, तिर्यंच, मनुष्यादि का अभाव प्राप्त हो जावेगा / ऐसा कभी नहीं होता। जगत् का स्वभाव ही ऐसा है। तथाविध जगत-स्वभाव से चारों गतियां शाश्वत हैं / अतः एक साथ सब जीव रत्नप्रभादि में उत्पन्न नहीं हो सकते।
