१३. ईर्यापथिकीक्रिया अप्रमत्त विवेकी संयमी को गमनागमन के निमित्त से लगने वाली क्रिया ।
चौदह भूतग्राम
सूक्ष्म केन्द्रिय, बादर एकेन्द्रिय, द्वीन्द्रिय, त्रीन्द्रिय, चतुरिन्द्रिय, असंज्ञी पंचेन्द्रिय और संज्ञी पंचेन्द्रिय, इन सातों के पर्याप्त और अपर्याप्त यों कुल चौदह भेद होते हैं । इनकी विराधना करना, इन्हें किसी भी प्रकार की पीड़ा देना अतिचार है ।

विवेचन - जैनागमों में सूक्ष्म रूप से अहिंसा का पालन करने के लिये एवं हिंसा से बचने के लिये अनेक आधारों से जीवों के भेद-प्रभेदों का उल्लेख किया गया है, क्योंकि जीव की भली-भांति पहचान हुए बिना उसकी हिंसा से बचा नहीं जा सकता । प्रस्तुत में जीवों के चौदह ग्रामों समूहों का उल्लेख किया गया है, जिनमें समस्त जागतिक जीवों का समावेश हो जाता I
सूक्ष्म जीव वे कहलाते हैं जो समस्त लोकाकाश में व्याप्त हैं किन्तु चर्म चक्षुओं से दृष्टिगोचर नहीं होते । वे इतने सूक्ष्म होते हैं कि मारने से मरते नहीं और काटने से कटते नहीं हैं। वे सूक्ष्मनामकर्म के उदय वाले प्राणी हैं और वे सब एकेन्द्रिय स्थावर ही होते हैं। ध्यान रहे कि कुंथुवा जैसे छोटे शरीर वाले जीवों की इन सूक्ष्म जीवों में गिनती नहीं है। कुंथुवा आदि जीव बादरनाम कर्म के उदय वाले हैं, अतएव उनकी गणना बादर - त्रस जीवों में होती है।
पर्याप्ति का अभिप्राय है जीव की शक्ति की पूर्णता । जीव जब नवीन जन्म ग्रहण करता है तब उस नूतन शरीर, इन्द्रिय आदि के निर्माण के लिये उपयोगी पुद्गलों की आवश्यकता होती है। उन पुद्गलों को ग्रहण करके शरीर, इन्द्रिय, भाषा आदि के रूप में परिणत करने की शक्ति की परिपूर्णता ही पर्याप्ति कहलाती है । यह परिपूर्णता प्राप्त कर लेने वाले जीव पर्याप्त कहलाते हैं। जब तक वह शक्ति पूरी नहीं होती तब तक वे अपर्याप्त कहलाते हैं। एकेन्द्रिय जीवों में चार, द्वीन्द्रिय से लेकर असंज्ञी पंचेन्द्रियों तक में पांच और संज्ञी - समनस्क प्राणियों में छह पर्याप्तियां होती हैं। जिस जीव में जितनी पर्याप्तियां संभव हैं, उनकी पूर्ति एक अन्तर्मुहूर्तकाल में ही होजाती है।

१. अम्ब, २. अम्बरीष, ३. श्याम, ४. शबल, ५. रौद्र, ६. उपरौद्र ७. काल, ८. महाकाल, ९. असिपत्र, १०. धनुः, ११. कुम्भ, १२. बालुक, १३. वैतरणी, १४. खरस्वर, १५. महाघोष । ये परम अधार्मिक, पापाचारी, क्रूर एवं निर्दय असुर जाति के देव हैं। नारकीय जीवों को व्यर्थ ही केवल मनोविनोद के लिये यातना देते हैं। इनका विशेष परिचय इस प्रकार है
