अमुक रसोई में इतना घी, इतना शाक, इतना मसाला ठीक रहेगा ।
निर्वाप – इतने पकवान थे, इतना शाक था, मधुर था, इस प्रकार देखे हुये भोज्य पदार्थ की कथा

आरम्भ
अमुक रसोई में इतने शाक और फल आदि की जरूरत रहेगी, इत्यादि ।
निष्ठान
अमुक भोज्य पदार्थों में इतने रुपये लगेंगे आदि ।
३. देशकथा - देशों की विविध वेशभूषा, शृंगार-रचना, भोजन पद्धति, गृह निर्माणकला, रीति
रिवाज आदि की प्रशंसा या निन्दा करना देशकथा है ।

राजाओं की सेना, रानियों, युद्ध कला, भोगविलास आदि का वर्णन करना राजकथा कहलाती है । राजकथा चार प्रकार की है - १. अतियान, २. निर्याण, ३. बलवाहन, ४. कोष ।
ध्यानसूत्र
आवश्यकसूत्र
पवनरहित अर्थात निर्वात स्थान में स्थिर दीप - शिखा के समान निश्चल, अन्य विषयों के संकल्प से रहित केवल एक ही विषय का चिन्तन ध्यान कहलाता है। अर्थात् अन्तर्मुहूर्त काल तक स्थिर अध्यवसान एवं मन की एकाग्रता ध्यान है। वीतराग के मन का अभाव होने के कारण योग-निरोध ही उनका ध्यान होता है ।' ध्यान प्रशस्त और अप्रशस्त रूप से दो प्रकार का होता है। आर्त्त और रौद्र अप्रशस्त ध्यान हैं, अतः हेय - त्याज्य हैं । धर्म तथा शुक्ल प्रशस्त ध्यान हैं आचरणीय हैं ।

आचार्य जिनदास महत्तर ने आवश्यकचूर्णि के प्रतिक्र मणाध्ययन में इसी प्रसंग पर एक गाथा उद्धृत की है
हिंसाणुरंजितं रौद्रं, अट्टं कामाणुरंजितं । धम्मरंजियं धम्मं, सुक्लज्झाणं निरंजणं ॥
अर्थात्- :- काम से अनुरंजित ध्यान आर्त कहलाता है। हिंसा से रंगा हुआ ध्यान रौद्र है, धर्म से अनुरंजित ध्यान धर्मध्यान है और शुक्लध्यान पूर्ण निरंजन होता है।
१. आर्तध्यान - आर्ति का अर्थ दुःख, व्यथा, कष्ट या पीड़ा होता है। आर्ति के निमित्त से जो ध्यान होता है, वह आर्तध्यान कहलाता है । अनिष्ट वस्तु के संयोग से, इष्ट वस्तु के वियोग से, रोग आदि के कारण तथैव भोगों की लालसा से मन में जो एक प्रकार की विकलता-सी अर्थात् पीड़ा-सी होती है और जब वह

Still like a steady lamp-flame in a windless, i.e. vacuum place, contemplation of only one subject, devoid of the resolve of other subjects, is called meditation. That is, steady determination and concentration of mind till the end of a moment is meditation. Due to the absence of the mind of the Vीतराग, Yoga-Nirodh is their meditation. Meditation is of two types, praiseworthy and not praiseworthy. Artt and Raudra are not praiseworthy meditations, therefore they are to be rejected. Dharma and Shukla are praiseworthy meditations, they are to be followed.
