विशेष कारण होने पर नौका द्वारा जल-मार्ग पार करने में अप्कायिक जीवों की विराधना अधिक होती है और अन्य कायिक जीवों की विराधना अल्प होती है ।
सकारण अन्य यानों के उपयोग में वायुकायिक जीवों की विराधना अधिक तथा तेजस्कायिक जीवों की विराधना अल्प एवं शेष कायिक जीवों की विराधना और भी अल्प होती है । उद्देशक १२, सूत्र ८ के अनुसार इन जीव-विराधनाओं का प्रायश्चित्त पाता है।।
अपवादों के सेवन का, उनके सेवन की सीमा का और प्रायश्चित्तों का निर्धारण तो गीतार्थ ही करते हैं।
आगमोक्त एवं व्याख्या में कहे अपवादों के अतिरिक्त यानों का उपयोग करना अकारण उपयोग माना जाता है, अतः उनके अकारण उपयोग का प्रायश्चित्त यहाँ प्रथम सूत्र के अनुसार समझना चाहिए एवं सकारण वाहन उपयोग का प्रायश्चित्त नहीं पाता है । यह भी इस प्रथम सूत्र से स्पष्ट होता है ।
किन्तु गवेषणा आदि दोषों का एवं विराधना सम्बन्धी दोषों का प्रायश्चित्त सकारण या अकारण दोनों प्रकार के वाहनप्रयोग में आता है, यह इन सूत्रों का तात्पर्य है ।

वस्त्रसम्बन्धी दोषों के सेवन का प्रायश्चित्त
३३-७३. जे भिक्खू वत्थं किणइ, किणावेइ, कोयं आहट्ट देज्जमाणं पडिग्गाहेइ, पडिग्गाहेंतं वा साइज्जइ। एवं चउद्दसमं उद्देसगगमेणं सव्वे सुत्ता वत्थाभिलावेणं भणियव्वा जाव जे भिक्खू वत्थणीसाए वासावासं वसइ, वसंतं वा साइज्जइ।
तं सेवमाणे आवज्जइ चाउम्मासियं परिहारट्टाणं उग्घाइयं ।
३३-७३. जो भिक्षु वस्त्र खरीदता है, खरीदवाता है या साधु के लिए खरीदकर लाया हुआ ग्रहण करता है अथवा ग्रहण करने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है, इत्यादि चौदहवें उद्देशक के समान सभी सूत्र वस्त्रालापक से कहने चाहिए यावत् जो भिक्षु वस्त्र के लिए (प्रतिबद्ध होकर) चातुर्मास में रहता है या रहने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है ।
इन सूत्रों में कहे दोषस्थानों का सेवन करने पर लघुचौमासी प्रायश्चित्त आता है।

In crossing a water-way by boat, the **apkayik** beings have more **viraadhana** (violation) when there is a special reason, and the **kayik** beings have less **viraadhana**.
