[ निशीथसूत्र
ग्रामानुग्राम जाती हुई निर्ग्रन्थी के मस्तक को अन्यतीर्थिक या गृहस्थ से ढकवाता है या ढकवाने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है । ( उसे लघुचौमासी प्रायश्चित्त प्राता है ।)
विवेचन - साधु को स्वयं का काय- परिकर्म आदि गृहस्थ से करवाने का प्रायश्चित्त पन्द्रहवें उद्देशक में कहा गया है । यहां निर्ग्रन्थ के द्वारा निर्ग्रन्थी का या निर्ग्रन्थी के द्वारा निर्ग्रन्थ का गृहस्थ से कायपरिकर्म करवाने का प्रायश्चित्त दो आलापकों द्वारा कहा गया है। ऐसी प्रवृत्ति करने में गृहस्थ
साधु-साध्वी के संयम में संदेह हो सकता है इत्यादि दोष पांचवें उद्देशक के संघाटी सिलवाने के सूत्र में कहे गये दोषों के समान समझ लेना चाहिए । अन्य संपूर्ण सूत्रों का विवेचन तीसरे उद्देशक के समान समझना चाहिए ।
सदृश निर्ग्रन्थ निर्ग्रन्थियों को स्थान न देने का प्रायश्चित्त
१२३. जे णिग्गंथे णिग्गंथस्स सरिसगस्स अंते ओवासे संते, ओवासं न देइ, न देतं वा साइज्जइ ।

विवेचन - जो समान समाचारी वाले हों, अचेलक्य आदि १० कल्पों में जो समान हों और सदोष आहार, उपधि, शय्या और शिष्यादि को ग्रहण नहीं करते हों वे सब 'सदृश साधु' कहे जाते हैं । अपने उपाश्रय में जगह होते हुए उन सदृश साधुनों को अवश्य स्थान देना चाहिये ।
किसी आपत्ति के कारण आने वाले साधु यदि असदृश हों तो उन्हें भी अवश्य स्थान देना चाहिये । स्थान होते हुए भी स्थान नहीं देने पर धर्मशासन की अवहेलना होती है और संयमभावों की हानि होती है, राग-द्वेष की वृद्धि होती है । अतः ऐसा करने पर साधु या साध्वी को इन सूत्रों के अनुसार प्रायश्चित्त आता है ।
