रुक न सके तो जहाँ बैठा हो वही मलोत्सर्ग हो जाने से वस्त्र आदि खराब हो सकते हैं। किसी गृहस्थ को ज्ञात होने पर अवहेलना भी कर सकता है।
भाष्यकार ने गा. ४३३७ में कहा है कि यदि किसी को यह ज्ञात हो जाय कि मुझे अमुक काल में अमुक रोग हो ही जाता है और अमुक औषध लेने से नहीं होता है तो बहुत हानि या दोषों से बचने के लिए रोग के पूर्व औषध प्रयोग करना यह रोग शान्ति के लिए होने से सप्रयोजन है तथा लाभदायक है । यद्यपि उत्तराध्ययनसूत्र में औषध सेवन का निषेध है फिर भी अल्प शक्तिवाला साधक रोग पाने पर निर्वद्य चिकित्सा करे तो उसका यहाँ प्रायश्चित्त नहीं है । पार्श्वस्थादि-वंदन-प्रशंसन प्रायश्चित्त
