[निशीयसूत्र २५. जो भिक्षु अन्यतीथिकों या गृहस्थों के लिए "विद्या" का प्रयोग करता है या करने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है।
२६. जो भिक्षु अन्यतीथिकों या गृहस्थों के लिए “मन्त्र" का प्रयोग करता है या करने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है।
२७. जो भिक्षु अन्यतीथिकों या गृहस्थों के लिए “योग" (तन्त्र) का प्रयोग करता है या करने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है । (उसे लघुचातुर्मासिक प्रायश्चित्त पाता है।)
विवेचन-"कोउय-भूतीण य करणं । पसिणस्स, पसिणापसिणस्स, णिमित्तस्स, लक्खण-बंजण सुमिणाण य वागरणं । सेसाणं विज्जादियाण पउंजणता ।"
कौतुककर्म-मृतवत्सा आदि को श्मशान या चोराहे आदि में स्नान कराना। सौभाग्य आदि के लिये धूप, होम आदि करना । दृष्टि दोष से रक्षा के लिये काजल का तिलक करना ।
___ भूतिकर्म–शरीर आदि की रक्षा के लिये विद्या से अभिमंत्रित राख से रक्षा पोटली बनाना या भस्मलेपन करना।
तीयं निमित्तं-वर्तमान काल और भविष्य काल की अपेक्षा भूतकाल के निमित्त कथन में दोषों की सम्भावना कम रहती है, अतः दसवें उद्देशक में वर्तमान और भविष्य के निमित्त-कथन का गुरुचौमासी प्रायश्चित्त कहा है और यहाँ अतीत के निमित्त-कथन का लघचौमासी प्रायश्चित्त कहा है।
पसिणं-मन्त्र या विद्या बल से दर्पण आदि में देवता का आह्वान करना व प्रश्न पूछना ।
पसिणापसिण-मन्त्र या विद्या बल से स्वप्न में देवता के आह्वान द्वारा जाना हुआ शुभाशुभ फल का कथन करना ।
लक्षण-पूर्व भव में उपाजित अंगोपांग आदि शुभ नामकर्म के उदय से शरीर, हाथ-पांव आदि में सामान्य मनुष्य के ३२, बलदेव वासुदेव के १०८ तथा चक्रवर्ती या तीर्थकर के १००८ बाह्य लक्षण होते हैं, अन्य अनेक प्रांतरिक लक्षण भी हो सकते हैं । ये लक्षण रेखा रूप में या अंगोपांग की आकृति रूप होते हैं तथा ये लक्षण स्वर एवं वर्ण रूप में भी होते हैं। शरीर का मान, उन्मान और प्रमाण ये भी शुभ लक्षण रूप होते हैं ।
शरीर का आयतन एक द्रोण पानी के बराबर हो तो वह पुरुष “मानयुक्त” कहा जाता है । शरीर का वजन अर्द्धभार हो तो वह पुरुष 'उन्मानयुक्त' कहा जाता है । शरीर की अवगाहना १०८ अंगुल हो तो वह पुरुष 'प्रमाणयुक्त' कहा जाता है।
व्यंजन-उपयुक्त लक्षण तो शरीर के साथ उत्पन्न होते हैं और बाद में उत्पन्न होने वाले 'व्यंजन' कहे जाते हैं । यथा-तिल, मस, अन्य चिह्न आदि ।
विद्यामन्त्र-जिस मन्त्र की अधिष्ठायिका देवी हो वह 'विद्या' कहलाती है और जिस मन्त्र का अधिष्ठायक देव हो वह 'मन्त्र' कहलाता है। अथवा विशिष्ट साधना से प्राप्त हो वह "विद्या' और केवल जाप करने से जो सिद्ध हो वह 'मन्त्र' कहा गया है।
