अंतरिक्षजात-मंच, माल, मकान की छत आदि स्थलों की ऊंचाई तो उनके नाम से ही स्पष्ट हो जाती है, अत: अंतरिक्षजात का "ऊंचे स्थान" ऐसा अर्थ नहीं करना चाहिये, किन्तु “आकाशीयअनावृतस्थल" ऐसा अर्थ करना चाहिये अर्थात् सूत्र कथित ऊँचे स्थलों के चौतरफ भित्ति आदि न होकर खुला आकाश हो तो वे ऊंचे स्थल अंतरिक्षजात विशेषण वाले कहे जाते हैं। यही अर्थ प्राचा. श्रु. २, अ. २, उ. १ के इस विषयक विस्तृत पाठ से स्पष्ट होता है । क्योंकि सूत्रगत ऊंचे स्थल यदि भित्ति आदि से चौतरफ आवृत हों तो गिरने आदि की कही गई सम्भावना संगत नहीं हो सकती है। शिल्पकलादि सिखाने का प्रायश्चित्त
१२. जे भिक्खू अण्णउत्थियं वा गारत्थियं वा--१. सिप्पं वा, २. सिलोगं वा, ३. अट्ठावयं वा, ४. कक्कडगं वा, ५. वुग्गहं वा, ६. सलाहं वा सिक्खावेइ, सिक्खातं वा साइज्जइ।
१२. जो भिक्षु अन्यतीथिक या गृहस्थ को-१. शिल्प, २. गुणकीर्तन, ३. जुआ खेलना, ४. कांकरी खेलना, ५. युद्ध करना, ६. पद्य रचना करना सिखाता है या सिखाने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है । (उसे लघुचातुर्मासिक प्रायश्चित्त आता है।)
विवेचन-सिप्पं-"तुण्णागादि" = सिलाई आदि शिल्प । सिलोगं—“वण्णणा"-प्रशंसा, गुणग्राम करना। अट्ठावयं-चौपड़ पासादि से जुआ खेलना । कक्कडयं-"कक्कडगं-हेऊ = कांकरी कौडियों से खेलने का एक प्रकार । वुग्गह-"वुग्गहो-कलहो" = झगड़ना, युद्ध कला। सलाह- "सलाहा-कव्वकरणप्पोगा" = काव्य-रचना करना । चूर्णिकार ने "अट्ठावयं” “कक्कडयं" की व्याख्या अन्य प्रकार से भी की है, यथा
"इमं अट्टापदं-पुच्छितो अपुच्छितो वा भणति-अम्हे णिमित्तं न सुठ्ठ जाणामो । एत्तियं पुण जाणामो–परं पभायकाले दधिकूरं सुणगा वि खातिउं ऐच्छिहिंति, अर्थ पदेन ज्ञायते सुभिक्खं ।" = निमित्त बताना ।
"कक्कडगं-हेऊ-जत्थ भणिते उभयहा वि दोषो भवति जहा-जीवस्स णिच्चत्त परिग्गहे णारगादि भावो ण भवति । अणिच्चे वा भणिते विणासी घटवत् कृतविप्रणासादयश्च दोषा भवंति । अथवा कर्कट हेतु सर्वभावैक्य प्रतिपत्तिः" = पदार्थों में रहे विविध धर्मों का एकांतिक कथन करना।
