निर्दिष्ट गाथाओं में तथा " परिष्ठापनिका नियुक्ति" आवश्यक सूत्र प्र. ४ में बताई गई है । निशीथ चूर्णिकार ने भी उसी स्थल का निर्देश किया है ।
३. शय्या में - कीडियां, मकोड़े, दीमक, अनेक प्रकार की कंसारियां, मकड़ियां आदि जीव उपाश्रय में हो सकते हैं । अतः प्रत्येक प्रवृत्ति देखकर या प्रमार्जन करके करने से इन जीवों की विराधना नहीं होती है ।
मकान के जिस स्थल का प्रमार्जन न होता हो, ऐसे ऊँचे स्थान या किनारे के स्थान में तथा अलमारियों आदि के नीचे या ग्रास-पास में मकडियां और उस स्थान के अनुरूप वर्ण वाले कुथुवे आदि जीव उत्पन्न हो जाते हैं । उपाश्रय के निकट में धान्यादि रखे हों तो इल्ली धनेरिया आदि जीव भी गमनागमन करते हैं । असावधानी से इन जीवों की विराधना हो सकती है ।
मकान में मक्खियां मच्छर प्रादि हों तो खुजलाने में या करवट पलटने में पूजने का विवेक न रहने पर तथा द्रव पदार्थों को रखने या खाने में सावधानी न रखने पर भी इन जीवों की विराधना होती है ।

४. उपधि में वस्त्र में जू लीख आदि, पाट में दीमक खटमल आदि, पुस्तकों एवं अलमारी आदि में लेवे आदि तथा तृण दर्भ आदि में अनेक प्रकार के प्रागंतुक जीव हो सकते हैं । श्रविवेक पूर्वक प्रतिलेखन प्रमार्जन करने से या उन्हें उपयोग में लेने से उन जीवों की विराधना हो सकती है ।
भिक्षु यदि जीवयुक्त मकान पाट आदि ग्रहण नहीं करने के तथा उनका उभयकाल विधिसहित प्रतिलेखन करने के श्रागम विधान का बराबर पालन करे तो अनेक प्रकार जीवों की उत्पत्ति की संभावना नहीं रहती है । जिससे उन जीवों की विराधना भी नहीं होती है ।
वस्त्रों को यथासमय धूप में प्रतापित करने का ध्यान रखे तो उनमें भी जीवोत्पत्ति की संभावना नहीं रहती है ।
मार्ग आदि स्थलों में उपरोक्त त्रस स्थावर जीवों की संभावना तो हो प्रत्येक प्रवृत्ति में जीवों को देखने का या प्रमार्जन करने का ध्यान रखने पर उनकी विराधना नहीं होती है ।
विराधना के अनेक विकल्पों से प्रायश्चित्त के भी अनेक विकल्प होते हैं, उनकी जानकारी भाष्य से की जा सकती है । संक्षिप्त में स्थावर जीवों की विराधना के प्रायश्चित्त ऊपर बताये गये हैं । - त्रस जीवों की विराधना का सामान्य प्रायश्चित्त इस प्रकार है
द्वन्द्रिय की विराधना का लघुचौमासी त्रीन्द्रिय की विराधना का गुरुचौमासी, चतुरिन्द्रिय की विराधना का लघुछः मासी, पंचेन्द्रिय की विराधना का गुरुछः मासी ।
सचित्त वृक्षारोहण - प्रायश्चित्त
९. जे भिक्खू सचित्त-रुक्खं दुरूहइ, दुरुहंतं वा साइज्जइ ।

Violation of two-sense beings - Laghu Chaumasi, violation of three-sense beings - Guru Chaumasi, violation of four-sense beings - Laghu Chahmasi, violation of five-sense beings - Guru Chahmasi.
