[१३१ १८. जे भिक्खू सागारिय-संतियं पायपुछणं जाइत्ता “सुए पच्चप्पिणिस्सामि त्ति” तमेव रणि पच्चप्पिणइ, पच्चप्पिणंतं वा साइज्जइ ।
१५. जो भिक्षु गृहस्थ के पादपोंछन को याचना करके "अाज ही लौटा दूगा" ऐसा कहकर दूसरे दिन लौटाता है या लौटाने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है।
१६. जो भिक्षु गृहस्थ के पादपोंछन की याचना करके कल लौटा देने का कहकर उसी दिन लौटा देता है या लौटा देने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है ।
१७. जो भिक्षु शय्यातर से पादपोंछन की याचना करके "अाज ही लौटा दूंगा" ऐसा कहकर कल लौटाता है या लौटाने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है ।
१८. जो भिक्षु शय्यातर के पादपोंछन की याचना करके “कल लौटा दूगा" ऐसा कहकर उसी दिन लौटा देता है या लौटा देने वाले का अनुमोदन करता है । (उसे लघुमासिक प्रायश्चित्त

विवेचन- दूसरे उद्देशक में काष्ठदंडयुक्त पादपोंछन के रखने का प्रायश्चित्त कहा गया है और यहाँ एक या दो दिन के लिए गृहस्थ का या शय्यातर का पादपोंछन प्रातिहारिक ग्रहण कर लौटाने का जो समय कहा हो उससे पहले-पीछे लौटाने का प्रायश्चित्त कहा है।
क्षेत्र काल सम्बन्धी किसी विशेष परिस्थिति में गृहस्थ से या शय्यातर से पैर पोंछने का उपकरण प्रातिहारिक लिया जा सकता है । यहाँ प्रातिहारिक पादपोंछन के ग्रहण करने का प्रायश्चित्त नहीं कहा गया है किन्तु भाषा के अविवेक का प्रायश्चित्त कहा गया है।
साधु के पास वस्त्रखंड का 'पादपोंछन' रहता है, कदाचित् आवश्यक होने पर दारुदंडयुक्त पादपोंछन भी रखता है और कभी विशेष परिस्थिति में गृहस्थ का या शय्यातर का पादपोंछन एक-दो दिन के लिये ग्रहण करता है । ऐसा इन सूत्रों से प्रतीत होता है। प्रत्यर्पणीय 'दंड' आदि का प्रायश्चित्त
