[निशीयसूत्र __ यहाँ अत्यधिक स्पष्ट किया गया है कि प्रतिलेखना दिन में ही होती है, रात्रि में नहीं । अतः सूर्योदय पूर्व १० प्रकार की उपधि की प्रतिलेखना का उपरोक्त भाष्य गा. १४२५ का निर्देश संदेहास्पद है।
उत्तराध्ययनसूत्र अध्ययन २६ गा. २३ में मुहपत्ति-प्रतिलेखना के बाद गोच्छग की प्रतिलेखना करने का स्पष्ट निर्देश है, जब कि इस १० उपधि में गोच्छग का कथन नहीं किया गया है किंतु उसे पौन पौरुषी बाद पात्र के प्रतिलेखन के साथ रखा है। इस तरह उत्तराध्ययनसूत्र के मूल पाठ से गाथा १४२५ की संगति नहीं होती है।
उत्तराध्ययन अ. २६ व भाष्य गाथा १४२६ में बताया है कि पात्र-प्रतिलेखना दिन की प्रथम पौरुषी के चतुर्थ भाग के अवशेष रहने पर करना चाहिये और चरम पौरुषी के प्रारम्भ में ही पात्र प्रतिलेखन करके बांध कर रख देना चाहिए उसके बाद शेष उपकरणों की प्रतिलेखना करके स्वाध्याय करना चाहिये।
एस पढम-चरमपोरिसीसु कालो, तन्विवरीओ अकालो पडिलेहणाए । ___ इस तरह दिन की प्रथम चतुर्थ पौरुषी प्रतिलेखन का काल है और शेष ६ पौरुषी [ ४ रात्रि की व दो दिन की ] अकाल है । इस व्याख्या से भी सूर्योदय के पूर्व रात्रि की अंतिम पौरुषी का समय प्रतिलेखन का अकाल सिद्ध होता है।
उत्तराध्ययनसूत्र अध्ययन २६ में आये प्रतिलेखना के दोषों का व विधि का विश्लेषण भाष्य में किया गया है तथा प्रविधि का अलग-अलग प्रायश्चित्त भी कहा है । जिज्ञासु पाठक भाष्य देखें।

इन उपरोक्त ५७ सूत्रों में कहे गये किसी भी प्रायश्चित्तस्थान के सेवन करने वाले को लघुमासिक प्रायश्चित्त आता है । इसका विवेचन प्रथम उद्देशक के समान समझना चाहिये । द्वितीय उद्देशक का सारांशसूत्र १ काष्ठदण्डयुक्त पादपोंछन बनाना। सूत्र २-८ काष्ठदण्डयुक्त पादपोंछन ग्रहण करना, रखना, ग्रहण करने की आज्ञा देना, वितरण
करना, उपयोग करना, डेढ़ मास से अधिक रखना एवं काष्ठदण्ड से पादप्रोंछन को
