_When the Sun travels within the innermost circle, it travels five thousand yojanas, two hundred and fifty-two yojanas, and sixty parts of a yojana in each muhurta.
For a human being on Earth, the Sun's apparent diameter is sixty thousand yojanas, sixty-six yojanas, thirty-three parts of a yojana, and sixty parts of a yojana, all combined, and this is equal to two parts of a chuniya.
Thus, there are eighteen muhurtas in a day, minus four parts of a muhurta. There are twelve muhurtas in a night, plus four parts of a muhurta.
As the Sun moves outward, it travels from one circle to the next, and in each muhurta, it travels eighteen parts of a yojana. As it moves outward, the shadow of a man decreases by eighty-four yojanas, and it continues to decrease until it reaches the outermost circle.

When the Sun travels within the outermost circle, it travels five thousand yojanas, one hundred and forty-seven yojanas, and fifty-seven parts of a yojana in each muhurta.
