## [Chapter of Non-Study]
[241]
2. **Digdaha** - One should not study when the direction appears to be filled with fire, i.e., when the direction appears blood-red.
3. **Garjit** - One should not study for one prahar (3 hours) after the thunder of clouds.
4. **Vidhyut** - One should not study for one prahar after lightning.
However, the non-study period due to thunder and lightning should not be considered during Chaturmas (four months of the rainy season). This is because thunder and lightning are often a natural occurrence during this season. Therefore, non-study is not considered from Ardra to Swati Nakshatra (constellations).
5. **Nirghat** - When there is a loud roar in the sky without clouds, or when there is thunder with clouds, there is a non-study period of two prahar.
6. **Yupaka** - In the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight), the meeting of the evening glow and the moonlight on the first, second, and third days is called Yupaka. One should not study during these days until the night.
7. **Yakshadipt** - When there is a light in a direction that appears like lightning, but occurs intermittently, it is called Yakshadipt. One should not study until the light in the sky disappears.
8. **Dhumika-Krishna** - The time from Kartik to Magh (October-February) is the time of clouds. During this time, a fine mist of water with a smoky color falls. This is called Dhumika-Krishna. One should not study until this mist disappears.
9. **Mihika-Shweta** - In winter, a fine mist of water with a white color falls. This is called Mihika. One should not study until this mist disappears.
10. **Raj-Udghāt** - Due to wind, dust spreads all around in the sky. One should not study until this dust settles.
The above ten reasons are related to the sky. The following ten reasons are related to the body.
11-12-13. **Haddi, Mans, and Rudhir** - If the bones, flesh, and blood of a five-sensed animal are visible, one should not study until these things are removed from there. The commentator considers non-study for 60 hands (approximately 100 feet) around these things.
Similarly, non-study is considered for bones, flesh, and blood of humans. The difference is that the non-study period for these is 100 hands and one day and night. The non-study period for a woman's menstrual cycle is three days. The non-study period for the birth of a boy and a girl is seven and eight days respectively.
