[ Surya Prajnapti Sutra ]
**Gatha:** How does the moon increase? How does the moon decrease? Is it by time or by space? By what nature does the moon increase and decrease? How does the Rahu-Vimana always remain inseparable from the moon? It is four angulas in size, and the moon always travels with it.
**Gatha:** It increases by twenty-eight, day by day, during the bright fortnight. As the moon increases, it also decreases in time.
**Gatha:** It increases by one-fifteenth, and it also decreases by one-fifteenth.
**Gatha:** Thus, the moon increases, and the moon decreases. It is by time or by space, by this nature does the moon increase and decrease.
**Gatha:** What are the celestial bodies in the human realm? There are four types of celestial bodies. There are five types of celestial bodies: the moon, the sun, and the planets.
**Gatha:** Beyond these, there are the moon, the planets, the stars, and the constellations. There are not four types of celestial bodies, but they are to be considered as four.
**Gatha:** What is the measure of the celestial bodies in the Jambudvipa, the Lavana, and the Dhāyisaṇḍa?
**Gatha:** In the Jambudvipa, there are twice as many, in the Lavana there are four times as many, and in the Lavana-Gāha there are three times as many. In the Dhāyisaṇḍa, there are twelve moons and suns.
**Gatha:** There are two moons in this Jambudvipa, four in the Lavana, and twelve moons and suns in the Dhāyisaṇḍa.
