नक्षत्रभोजनविधान का क्रम अन्य किसी ज्योतिष ग्रन्थ से 'उद्धृत है।
इन उपांगद्वय की संकलन शैली के अनुसार अन्य मान्यताओं के बाद स्वमान्यता का सूत्र रहा होगा, जो विषमकाल के प्रभाव से विछिन्न हो गया है - ऐसा अनुमान है।
सामान्य मनीषियों ने इस नक्षत्रभोजनविधान को और नक्षत्रगणनाक्रम को स्वसम्मत मानने की बहुत बड़ी असावधानी की है।
इसी एक सूत्र के कारण उपांगद्वय के संबंध में अनेक चमत्कार की बातें कह कर भ्रांतियां फैलाई गई हैं। इन भ्रांतियों के निराकरण के लिये आजतक किसी भी बहुश्रुत ने अपने उत्तरदायित्व को समझकर समाधान करने का प्रयत्न नहीं किया है।
इसका परिणाम यह हुआ कि इन उपांगों का स्वाध्याय होना भी बंद हो गया।

चन्द्र-सूर्य प्रज्ञप्ति में दशम प्राभृत के बारहवें प्राभृत- प्राभृत के सूत्र ४६ में नक्षत्र देवताओं के नाम हैं । मुहूर्तचिंतामणि के नक्षत्र प्रकरण में नक्षत्र देवताओं के नाम हैं 1
इन दोनों के नक्षत्र देवता निरूपण में सर्वथा मान्य है। केवल नक्षत्र गणना क्रम का अंतर है।
इसी प्रकार दशम प्राभृत के तेरहवें प्राभृत-प्राभृत में तीस मुहूर्तों के नाम,
चौदहवें प्राभृत-प्राभृत में पन्द्रह दिनों के और रात्रियों के नाम,
पन्द्रहवें प्राभृत-प्राभृत में दिवस तिथियों और रात्रि तिथियों के नाम,
सोलहवें प्राभृत-प्राभृत में नक्षत्र गोत्रों के नाम,
सत्तरहवें प्राभृत-प्राभृत में नक्षत्र भोजनों के विधान ।
वृहद् दैवज्ञरंजनम्, मुहूर्तमार्तण्ड आदि ग्रन्थों में ऊपर अंकित सभी विषय उपलब्ध हैं।
