ये दोनों उपांग आगम हैं - इनमें ये मांस भोजन के विधान कैसे हैं ? यह आश्का अज्ञातकाल से चली आ रही है।
सूर्यप्रज्ञप्ति के वृत्तिकार मलयगिरि ने भी इन मांसभोजनविधानों के संबंध में किसी प्रकार का ऊहापोह या स्पष्टीकरण नहीं किया है।
एक कृत्तिका नक्षत्र के भोजन विधान की व्याख्या करके शेष नक्षत्रों के भोजन कृत्तिका के समान समझने की सूचना दी है।
शेष नक्षत्रों के भोजन विधानों की व्याख्याएँ न करने के संबंध में यह कल्पना है कि - मांसवाची शब्दों की व्याख्या क्या की जाय ?
अथवा मांसवाची भोजनों को वनस्पतिवाची सिद्ध करने की कल्पना करना उन्हें उचित नहीं लगा होगा ? या उस समय ऐसी कोई परम्परागत धारणा न रही होगी?
स्व. पूज्य श्री घासीलाल जी म. ने इस भोजन सूत्र को प्रक्षिप्त सिद्ध किया है और कतिपय मांसनिष्पन्न भोजनों को वनस्पतिनिष्पन्न भोजन भी सिद्ध किया है। ये दानों परस्पर विरोधी कार्य हैं।
नक्षत्र भोजन का यह सूत्र यदि प्रक्षिप्त है तो मांसनिष्पन्न भोजनों को वनस्पत्यादि निष्पन्न भोजन सिद्ध करने से लाभ ही क्या है ? क्योंकि सूर्यप्रज्ञप्ति के प्ररूपक लौकिक कार्यों की सिद्धि के लिये सावध विधि का प्ररूपण ही नहीं कर सकते और सूत्रागमों का गुंथन करने वाले गणधर ऐसे भ्रामक शब्दों का प्रयोग भी नहीं करते, यह निश्चित है। इसलिये हमारे बहुश्रुतों को इस सूत्र के संबंध में सर्वसम्मत निर्णय घोषित करना ही चाहिये।
जैनागमों में नक्षत्र गणना का क्रम अभिजित से प्रारम्भ हो कर उत्तराषाढ़ा पर्यन्त का है। प्रस्तुत प्राभृत के इस सूत्र में नक्षत्रों का क्रम कृत्तिका से प्रारम्भ हो कर भरणीपर्यन्त का है।' उप्लब्ध अनेक ज्योतिष ग्रन्थों में भी यह नक्षत्र गणना का क्रम विद्यमान है – अत: यह स्पष्ट है कि प्रस्तुत
