In the same way, in the first two verses of the praise verses given at the end of the Chandra and Surya Prajnapti, the compiler has said, 'I have engraved this Bhagavati Jyotish-Raj-Prajnapti.'
The author of this text has not said anywhere that 'I will speak of Chandra Prajnapti or Surya Prajnapti, but 'Jyotish-Raj-Prajnapti' is the only name that its author has clearly stated, in this context this evidence is sufficient.
When was this Upanga considered as an Upanga? And when were its two studies or two Shruta-skandhas considered as two Upangas? What can be said in the absence of historical evidence.
The compiler of Jyotish-Raj-Prajnapti
The question arises - who was the compiler of 'Jyotish-Raj-Prajnapti'?
A definite solution to this question is not possible, as the name of the compiler is not available anywhere.
'Chandra Prajnapti and Surya Prajnapti' have been written by many as Ganadharakrit. It is possible that this is based on the fourth verse of the beginning of Chandra Prajnapti. But how can it be proved from this verse that Gautam Ganadharakrit is?
Its compiler is some Purvadhar or Shrutadhar sthavir, who is saying that 'Indrabhuiti' named Gautam Ganadhar, after bowing to Bhagwan Mahavira with three yogas, asks about 'Jyotish-Raj-Prajnapti'.
. Compilation period of Jyotish-Raj-Prajnapti
•
The time between Bhagwan Mahavira and the Niruktikar Shri Bhadrabahusuri can be called the compilation period of this Granthraj, because Bhadrabahusurikrit 'Surya Prajnapti's Nirukti' was destroyed before the Vrittikar Acharya Malayagiri, he himself writes this in the Vritti of Surya Prajnapti.
In this verse, the use of the verb 'puccha' has been done by some other compiler.
Jyotish-Raj-Prajnapti is an independent work
The compiler bows in five verses in the second verse of Chandra Prajnapti and in the third verse he says that 'to reveal the subtle mathematics in the form of a stream of the essence of the previous Shruta - a waterfall', I will say 'Jyotish-Gan-Raj-Prajnapti'. This clearly indicates - this is an independent work. At the beginning of each sutra of Chandra Prajnapti and Surya Prajnapti, the use of 'ta' is there. This use of 'ta' is strong evidence to prove it as an independent work.
