The names of all the Angas and Upangas are available somewhere at the beginning or end, but why are the names Chandraprajnapti or Suryaprajnapti not mentioned in the Uththānika or the Upsanhar of these two Upangas? This is a question worth considering.
When and why was their division into two Upangas done? This is a subject of research. Planets, constellations, and stars are celestial deities - their Indra are the Moon and Sun - these two are the Jyotishganaraj.
In the prose and verse sutras of the Uththānika and Upsanhar, only the name 'Jyotishganarajprajnapti' is available, but these Upangas are not known by this name, but by the names Chandraprajnapti and Suryaprajnapti.
The compiler of 'Jyotish-Raj-Prajnapti' promises to call the independently compiled commentary with the single name 'Jyotish-Gan-Raj-Prajnapti' at the beginning of the text.
