**1.** When the fresh sun, after entering the inner circle, moves around it, then in one day, with one *raaidie* (unit of time), it covers one part of the day-field, leaving the night-field, and moves around the circle, which is divided into eighteen *tisas* (units of time).
Therefore, the day is of eighteen *muhurtas* (units of time), less two *egaattibhagamuhurtas* (units of time).
The night is of twelve *muhurtas* (units of time), more two *egaattibhagamuhurtas* (units of time).
