३१ - नवमस्स उक्खेवओ-[जइ णं भंते! समणेणं भगवया महावीरेणं अट्ठमस्स अंगस्स तच्चस्स वग्गस्स अट्ठमस्स अज्झयणस्स अयमढे पण्णत्ते, नवमस्स णं भंते! अज्झयणस्स अंतगडदसाणं के अढे पण्णत्ते?]
एवं खलु जंबू! तेणं कालेणं तेणं समएणं बारवईए नयरीए कण्हे नामं वासुदेवे राया जहा पढमए जाव' विहरइ। तत्थ णं बारवईए बलदेवे नामं राया होत्था-वण्णओ। तस्स णं बलदेवस्स रणो धारिणी नामं देवी होत्था। वण्णओ। तए णं सा धारिणी देवी सीहं सुविणे जहा गोयमे, नवरं वीसं वासाइं परियाओ। सेसं तं चेव सेत्तुंजे सिद्धे।
एवं खलु जंबू! समणेणं भगवाया महावीरेणं जाव' संपत्तेणं अट्ठमस्स अंगस्स अंतगडदसाणं तच्चस्स वग्गस्स नवमस्स अज्झयणस्स अयमढे पण्णत्ते त्ति बेमि।
भगवन् ! श्रमण भगवान् महावीर ने अन्तगडदशा सूत्र के तीसरे वर्ग के आठवें अध्ययन के जो भाव कहे वे मैंने आपसे सुने। भगवन् ! नवमें अध्ययन के भगवान् ने क्या भाव कहे हैं? यह भी मुझे बताने की कृपा करें।
श्री सुधर्मा स्वामी ने कहा-हे जंब! उस काल उस समय में द्वारका नामक नगरी थी. जिसका वर्णन पूर्व में किया जा चुका है। एक दिन भगवान् अरिष्टनेमि तीर्थंकर विचरते हुए उस नगरी में पधारे। वहाँ द्वारका नगरी में बलदेव नामक राजा था। यहाँ राजा का वर्णन औपपातिक सत्र के अनसार समझ लेना चाहिए। उस बलदेव राजा की धारिणी नाम की रानी थी। उसका वर्णन भी औपपातिक सूत्र के अनुसार जानना। उस धारिणी रानी ने सिंह का स्वप्न देखा, तदनन्तर पुत्रजन्म आदि का वर्णन गौतमकुमार की तरह जान लेना चाहिए। विशेषता यह कि वह बीस वर्ष की दीक्षापर्याय वाला हआ। शेष उसी प्रकार यावत शत्रुजय पर्वत पर सिद्धि प्राप्त की।
- हे जंबू! इस प्रकार यावत् मोक्ष-प्राप्त श्रमण भगवान् महावीर ने अन्तगडसूत्र के तृतीय वर्ग के नवम अध्ययन का यह अर्थ प्रतिपादन किया है, ऐसा मैं कहता हूँ।
