[उपासकदशांगसूत्र रेवई गाहावइणी संतेहिं जाव' वागरिया, तं णं तुमं देवाणुप्पिया! एयस्स ठाणस्स आलोएहि जाव' पडिवजाहि।
___भगवान् गौतम ने श्रमणोपासक महाशतक से कहा-देवानुप्रिय! श्रमण भगवान् महावीर ने ऐसा आख्यात, भाषित, प्रज्ञप्त एवं प्ररूपित किया है-कहा है-(देवानुप्रिय! अन्तिम मारणान्तिक संलेखना की आराधना में लगे हुए, अनशन स्वीकार किए हुए श्रमणोपासक के लिए सत्य, तत्त्वरूप, तथ्य, सद्भूत वचन भी यदि अनिष्ट, अकान्त, अप्रिय, अमनोज्ञ तथा मन के प्रतिकूल हों तो उन्हें बोलना कल्पनीय नहीं है) देवानुप्रिय! तुम अपनी पत्नी रेवती के प्रति ऐसे वचन बोले, इसलिए तुम इस स्थान की-धर्म के प्रतिकूल आचरण की आलोचना करो प्रायश्चित्त स्वीकार करो। महाशतक द्वारा प्रायश्चित्त
२६५. तए णं से महासयए समणोवासए भगवओ गोयमस्स तहत्ति' एयमटुं विणएणं पडिसुणेइ, पडिसुणेत्ता तस्स ठाणस्स आलाएइ जाव अहारिहं च पायच्छितं पडिवज्जइ।

२६६. तए णं से भगवं गोयमे महासयगस्स समणोवासयस्स अंतियाओ पडिणिक्खमइ, पडिणिक्खमित्ता रायगिहं नयरं मझं-मझेणं निग्गच्छइ, निग्गच्छित्ता जेणेव समणे भगवं महावीरे, तेणेव उवागच्छइ, उवागच्छित्ता समणं भगवं महावीरं वंदइ नमसइ, वंदित्ता नमंसित्ता संजमेणं तवसा अप्पाणं भावेमाणे विहरइ।
तत्पश्चात् भगवान् गौतम श्रमणोपासक महाशतक के पास से रवाना हुए, राजगृह नगर के बीच से गुजरे, जहां श्रमण भगवान् महावीर थे, वहां आए। भगवान् को वंदन-नमस्कार किया। वंदननमस्कार कर संयम एवं तप से आत्मा को भावित करते हुए धर्माराधना में लग गए।
२६७. तए णं समणे भगवं महावीरे अन्नया कयाइ रायगिहाओ नयराओ पडिणिक्खमइ, पडिणिक्खमित्ता बहिया जणवय-विहारं विहरइ।
तदनतर श्रमण भगवान् महावीर, किसी समय राजगृह नगर से प्रस्थान कर अन्य जनपदों में विहार कर गए।
