कुंडकौलिक भगवान् को वंदन, नमन कर वापस अपने स्थान पर लौट आया। भगवान् महावीर अन्य जनपदों में विहार कर गए। कुंडकौलिक उत्तरोत्तर साधना-पथ पर अग्रसर होता रहा। यों चौदह वर्ष व्यतीत हो गए। पन्द्रह वें वर्ष उसने अपने बड़े पुत्र को गृहस्थ एवं परिवार का उत्तरदायित्व सौंप कर अपने आपको सर्वथा साधना में लगा दिया। उसके परिणाम उत्तरोत्तर पवित्र होते गए। उसने श्रावक की ग्यारह प्रतिमाओं की उपासना की। अन्ततः एक मास की संलेखना और एक मास के अनशन द्वारा समाधिपूर्वक देह-त्याग किया। वह अरूणध्वज विमान में देवरूप में उत्पन्न हुआ है।
