७७. तणं से भगवं गोयमे छट्ठक्खण-पारणगंसि पढमाए पोरिसीए सज्झायं करेइ, बिइयाए पोरिसीए झाणं झियाइ, तइयाए पोरिसीए अतुरियं अचवलं असंभंते मुहपत्तिं पडिलेहेइ, पडिलेहित्ता भायण - वत्थाइं पडिलेहेइ, पडिलेहित्ता भायणवत्थाई पमज्जइ, पमज्जित्ता भायणाई उग्गाहेइ, उग्गाहित्ता जेणेव समणे भगवं महावीरे तेणेव उवागच्छइ, उवागच्छित्ता समणं भगवं महावीरं वंदड़, नमंसइ, वंदित्ता, नमंसित्ता एवं वयासी - - इच्छामि णं भंते! तुब्भेहिं अब्भणुण्णाए छट्ठक्खमणपारणगंसि वाणियगामे नयरे उच्च-नीयमज्झिमाइं कुलाई घर-समुदाणस्स भिक्खायरियाए अडित्तए ।

बेले के पारणे का दिन था, भगवान् गौतम ने पहले पहर में स्वाध्याय किया, दूसरे पहर में ध्यान किया, तीसरे पहर में अत्वरित -- जल्दबाजी न करते हुए, अचपल -- स्थिरतापूर्वक, असंभ्रान्तअनाकुल भाव से जागरूकतापूर्वक मुखवस्त्रिका का प्रतिलेखन किया, पात्रों और वस्त्रों का प्रतिलेखन एवं प्रमार्जन किया । पात्र उठाये, वैसा कर, जहां श्रमण भगवान् महावीर थे, वहां आए। उन्हें वंदन, नमस्कार किया। वंदन, नमस्कार कर यों बोले-- भगवन् ! आपसे अनुज्ञा प्राप्त कर मैं आज बेले के पारणे के दिन वाणिज्यग्राम नगर में उच्च ( सधन ), निम्न (निर्धन), मध्यम -- सभी कुलों में गृहसमुदानी -- क्रमागत किसी भी घर को बिना छोड़े की जाने वाली भिक्षा-चर्या के लिए जाना चाहता हूं । भगवान् बोले-देवानुप्रिय ! जैसे तुम्हें सुख हो, (बिना प्रतिबन्ध - - विलम्ब किए ) करो ।

७८. तए णं भगवं गोयमे समणेणं भगवया महावीरेणं अब्भणुण्णाए समाणे समणस्स भगवओ महावीरस्स अंतियाओ दूइपलासाओ चेइयाओ पडिणिक्खमइ, पडिणिक्खमित्ता अतुरियमचवलमसंभंते जुगंतर- परिलोयणाए दिट्ठीए पुरओ ईरियं सोहेमाणे जेणेव वाणियगामे नयरे तेणेव उवागच्छइ, उवागच्छित्ता वाणियगामे नयरे उच्च-नीयमज्झिमाइं कुलाई घर-समुदाणस्स भिक्खायरियाए अडइ ।
श्रमण भगवान् महावीर से अभ्यनुज्ञात होकर उनकी आज्ञा प्राप्त कर भगवान् गौतम ने दूतीपलाश चैत्य से प्रस्थान किया। प्रस्थान कर, बिना शीघ्रता किए, स्थिरतापूर्वक अनाकुल भाव से युग-परिणाम-साढ़े तीन हाथ तक मार्ग का परिलोकन करते हुए, ईर्यासमितिपूर्वक - - भूमि को भली भांति देखकर चलते हुए, जहां वाणिज्यग्राम नगर था, वहां आए। आकर वहां उच्च, निम्न एवं मध्य कुलों में समुदानीभिक्षा हेतु घूमने लगे ।
