Other relations, though properly pursed and taken care of, inay become refractory, it is only one's own brother, who even if angry with his brother, becomes a protector to him in times of trouble.
अभयं सुपत्त-दाणं अणुकंपा उचिय-कित्ति-दाणं च । दोहिंवि मुक्खो भणिओ तिन्निवि भोगाइ दिति ॥२१२॥ अभयं सुपात्रदानमनुकम्पोचितकीर्तिदानं च । द्वाभ्यामपि मोक्षो भणितस्त्रोण्यपि भोगादिकं ददति ॥२१२॥
Of the five kinds of giving viz: giving assurance of safety, charity to a worthy person, gift out of compassion, fit and proper gift, gift for fame, the first two give even emancipation and the remaiving three give worldly enjoyments.
विणओ आहवइ सिरि लहेइ विणओ जसं च कित्ति च । न कयाइ दुग्विणीओ सुकज-सिद्धिं वियाणाई ॥२१॥ विनय आह्वयति श्रियं लभते विनयो यशश्च कीतिं च । न कदापि दुर्विनीतः सुकार्यसिद्धिं विजानाति ॥ २१३ ।।
Modesty brings wealth and a modest man acquires fame and glory, the immodest never kuow how to accomplislı good deeds,
