26. A princely way to world peace
Non-violence and Peace is the key to life. It is the natural state. It is relevant for all the times and places. Non-violence and peace is a complete concept. Indian seers and sages have always sung the song of non-violence. Lord Buddha and Lord Mahavira have called non-violence the supreme virtue. Smrities and the Mahabharat etc. are also replete with various aspects of non-violence. We are facing degeneration of moral values, pollution of human mind and unrest. Degeneration of faith in basic values, materialistic outlook, excessive craving for ease and comfort, unbridled desires and craving, lack of compassion, excessive greed and selfishness have given rise to many problems in the present age i.e., tension, ecological pollution, violence, cruelty, corruption, drugs addiction, exploitation, inequality etc. The basic problem of the whole world today is establishment of peace. In fact, survival of living beings including human beings depends solely on the equilibrium state of the peace. As we draw close to twentyfirst century, the human race faces unprecedented challenges for its survival. Technology is growing so fast, that older things become outdated in no time. But in terms of human values, we still live in yester years. Our capacity to destroy has vastly increased but our willingness to harness this capacity with wisdom has not increased at all.
Every sensible person should realize the basic importance of world-peace for the survival of mankind. The talk about the necessity of world-peace does not mean indulging in any religious, oldfashioned and meaningless platitude. We are striving for a holistic and divine approach for a peaceful world order. But, the line of
