[३९] तृतीय अध्ययन
सचित्र उत्तराध्ययन सूत्र
अप्पिया देवकामाणं, कामरूव - विउव्विणो । उड् कप्पे चिट्ठन्ति, पुव्वा वाससया बहू ॥१५॥
दिव्य काम-भोगों में लीन, इच्छानुसार रूप निर्मित करने में समर्थ वे देव असंख्य काल तक ऊर्ध्व कल्पों (देव - विमानों) में रहते हैं ॥१५॥
Those gods adhered to divine sensual pleasures, capable to change their forms according to their will, lives in upper heavenly zones upto innumerable years (15)
तत्थ ठिच्चा जहाठाणं, जक्खा आउक्खए चुया ।
वेन्ति माणुस जोणिं, से दसंगेऽभिजायई ॥१६॥
वे देवलोक में यथास्थान अपनी आयु सीमा तक रहते हैं; आयु समाप्त होने पर वे देवलोक से च्यवकर मनुष्य जन्म पाते हैं, वहाँ उन्हें दशांग (दश प्रकार की) भोग सामग्री प्राप्त होती है ॥१६ ॥
Those gods live in those heavenly zones upto their age-limit. On completion of age-limit they come down and take birth in human form, there they get ten types of pleasure-objects. (16)
खेत्तं वत्युं हिरण्णं च पसवो दास - पोरुसं । चत्तारि काम-खन्धाणि, तत्थ से उववज्जई ॥१७॥
जहाँ वे उत्पन्न होते हैं, वहाँ उन्हें इन चार कामस्कन्धों की उपलब्धि होती है - ( १ ) खेत्त - क्षेत्र ( खुली जमीन - Open land) (२) वत्थु - गृह (Covered area) (३) पशु और (४) दास पौरुषेय ॥१७॥
They take birth in those families, where they get these four objects of pleasure by birth. These four pleasure objects are - (1) Open Land (खेत्त) (2) Covered area ( वत्थु ) (3) Cattle (पशु) and (4) slaves and valets. (17)
मित्तवं नायवं होइ, उच्चागोए य वण्णवं ।
अप्पायंके महापन्ने, अभिजाए जसोबले ॥ १८ ॥
वह सन्मित्रों से युक्त, ज्ञातिमान, उच्च गोत्रीय, सुन्दर वर्ण वाले, नीरोग, महाप्रज्ञ, अभिजात, यशस्वी और सामर्थ्यवान् होते हैं ॥१८॥
They have indeed-friends, relations, and be of high family (उच्च गोत्र ), fine complexion, healthy, wise, noble, famous and strengthful. (18)
भोच्चा माणुस्सए भोए, अप्पडिरूवे अहाउयं । पुव्वं विसुद्ध सद्धम्मे, केवलं बोहि बुज्झिया ॥१९॥
मानव-सम्बन्धी अनुपम भोगों को आयु पर्यन्त भोग कर भी विशुद्ध धर्म की आराधना के प्रभाव से वे निर्मल बोधि (ज्ञान) से बोधित होते हैं ॥ १९ ॥
Even enjoying these unrivalled human pleasures and comforts till life they attain supreme knowledge, due to practising the pure and meritorious religious order and laws in previous life. (19)
