(Srenika) Hearing this reply of sage, monarch of Magadha, king Srenika laughed with scream and smirch and then uttered-You seem wealthy and fortunate, even then how no body is your protector ? (10)
होमि नाहो भयन्ताणं, भोगे भुंजाहि संजया ।
मित्त-नाईपरिवुडो, माणुस्सं खु सुदुल्लहं ॥११॥ हे भदन्त ! मैं आपका नाथ बन जाता हूँ। हे संयत ! आप मित्र और ज्ञातिजनों के साथ भोगों को भोगो; क्योंकि मानव-जन्म की प्राप्ति अति दुर्लभ है ॥११॥
O religious person (4677) ! I become your protector. O restrained ! You enjoy pleasures with your friends and relations ; for getting the human existence is very difficult. (11)
अप्पणा वि अणाहो सि, सेणिया ! मगहाहिवा !
अप्पणा अणाहो सन्तो, कहं नाहो भविस्ससि ? ॥१२॥ (श्रमण) हे मगधाधीश राजा श्रेणिक ! तुम स्वयं अनाथ हो तब मेरे नाथ कैसे बन सकते हो ?॥१२॥
O king Śreņika, monarch of Magadha ! You yourself are without protector, then how you can be my protector ? (12)
एवं वुत्तो नरिन्दो सो, सुसंभन्तो सुविम्हिओ ।
वयणं अस्सुयपुव्वं, साहुणा विम्हयनिओ ॥१३॥ पहले से ही विस्मित राजा श्रेणिक मुनि के इन वचनों को सुनकर और भी विस्मित तथा संभ्रमित हो गया ॥१३॥
Hearing these words of the monk, the king who was previously amazed, struck with astonishment (13)
अस्सा हत्थी मणुस्सा मे, पुरं अन्तेउरं च मे |
भुंजामि माणुसे भोगे, आणा इस्सरियं च मे ॥१४॥ (श्रेणिक) मेरे पास घोड़े हैं, हाथी हैं, मनुष्य (सेवक) हैं, यह नगर मेरा है और मेरा अन्तःपुर भी है, मेरा ऐश्वर्य है तथा मेरी आज्ञा चलती है। मैं मनुष्य संबंधी सभी प्रकार के भोगों को भोग रहा हूँ-॥१४॥
(Śreņika) I possess horses, elephants, men (servants), this town and seraglio, power, wealth, prosperity, command; and enjoying all the pleasures of human life. (14)
एरिसे सम्पयग्गम्मि, सव्वकामसमप्पिए ।
कहं अणाहो भवइ ?, मा हु भन्ते ! मुसं वए ॥१५॥ इस प्रकार की उत्तम संपदा के कारण मुझे सभी प्रकार के कामभोग सुलभ हैं; फिर मैं कैसे अनाथ हूँ? भंते ! आप असत्य भाषण न करें ॥१५॥
Due to such great wealth (power) all pleasures are feasible to me: even then how I am without protection. Being a religious person, you should not speak untruth. (15)
