२११] अष्टादश अध्ययन
सचित्र उत्तराध्ययन सूत्र ,
सव्वे ते विइया मज्झं, मिच्छादिट्ठी अणारिया ।
विज्जमाणे परे लोए, सम्मं जाणामि अप्पगं ॥२७॥ मिथ्यादृष्टि और अनार्यों को मैंने जान लिया है। परलोक का अस्तित्व होने से मैं अपनी और पराई आत्मा को सम्यक् प्रकार से जानता हूँ ॥२७॥
I have known these false believers and in-nobles. I know that the existence of next life is a fact. So I very well know my own soul and souls of others. (27)
अहमासी महापाणे, जुइमं वरिससओवमे ।
जा सा पाली महापाली, दिव्वा वरिससओवमा ॥२८॥ मैं पिछले जन्म में पाँचवें देवलोक के महाप्राण विमान में वर्ष शतोपम आयु वाला द्युतिमान देव था। जिस प्रकार यहाँ मानव-जीवन में सौ वर्ष की आयु पूर्ण मानी जाती है उसी प्रकार देवलोक में पल्योपम और सागरोपम की आयु पूर्ण मानी जाती है। ऐसी ही पूर्ण आयु वहाँ मेरी भी थी ॥२८॥
In my previous birth, I was a lustrous god in Mahāprāņa palace of fifth heaven having the duration of divine varșa śatopama. As in this human-life the life-duration of one hundred years supposed as complete age, in the same way the life-duration of varsa satopama is meant as complete age. Such complete age was of mine also. (28)
से चुए बम्भलोगाओ, माणुस्सं भवमागए ।
अप्पणो य परेसिं च, आउं जाणे जहा तहा ॥२९॥ मैं ब्रह्मलोक से अपनी आयु पूर्ण होने पर इस मनुष्य लोक में आया हूँ। जिस प्रकार मैं अपनी आयु को जानता हूँ उसी प्रकार अन्यों की आयु को भी जानता हूँ ॥२९॥
I took birth in this human-abode completing the god-age from Brahmaloka heaven. As I know my own age, so I know the ages of all others. (29)
नाणारुइं च छन्दं च, परिवज्जेज्ज संजए ।
अणट्ठा जे य सव्वत्था, इइ विज्जामणुसंचरे ॥३०॥ अनेक प्रकार की रुचि, मनःकल्पित अभिप्राय और प्रयोजनशून्य व्यापारों का परित्याग करके संयतात्मा मुनि इस तत्त्वज्ञान रूपी विद्या का अनुसरण करता है ॥३०॥
Abandoning the manifold interests, fancies and purposeless activities; the restrained monk follows this elementology. (30)
पडिक्कमामि पसिणाणं, परमन्तेहिं या पुणो ।
अहो उठ्ठिए अहोरायं, इइ विज्जा तवं चरे ॥३१॥ मैं शुभाशुभ फल बताने वाले प्रश्नों और गृहस्थों की मंत्रणाओं से पृथक् रहता हूँ। अहो ! रात-दिन धर्माचरण के लिए मुझे तत्पर जानकर तुम भी तप का आचरण करो ॥३१॥
I remain away from the questions resulting auspicious and inauspicious consequences and secret talks of householders. I practise religious order day and night (twenty four hours), knowing such you also practise penance. (31)
