सप्तदश अध्ययन [२०२

Who wishes to get food from his caste-people-previous acquaintances, does not want to take alms from many rich and poor, higher or lower families and sits down on the seats and beds of householders, he is called a sinful sage. (19)
एयारिसे पंचकुसीलसंवुडे, रूवंधरे मुणिपवराण हेट्ठिमे ।
अयंसि लोए विसमेव गरहिए, न से इहं नेव परत्थ लोए ॥२०॥ जो इस प्रकार आचरण करता है, वह पाँच प्रकार के कुशील साधुओं के समान असंवृत है। सिर्फ मुनि-वेष का ही धारक है, श्रेष्ठ मुनियों में निकृष्ट है। वह इस लोक में विष की तरह निन्दनीय होता है। अतः वह न इस लोक का रहता है और न ही परलोक का रहता है ॥२०॥
Who behaves like this, he is unrestrained like five kusila saints (these are 1. lover of delicacies-osanno, 2. fallen-pāsattho, 3. indisciplined-ahācchanda, 4. misbehavedkusilo and 5. addict-asakta), though having the robe of an ascetic he is lowest among worthy monks, he is despised like a poison in this world. Therefore for him neither this would nor beyond. (20)
जे वज्जए एए सया उ दोसे, से सुव्वए होइ मुणीण मज्झे । अयंसि लोए अमयं व पूइए, आराहए लोगमिणं तहावरं ॥२१॥
-त्ति बेमि। जो इन सभी दोषों का सदा वर्जन करता है, वह मुनियों के मध्य में सुव्रत होता है तथा इस लोक में अमृत के समान पूजा जाता है और इस लोक तथा परलोक-दोनों लोकों का आराधक होता है ॥२१॥
-ऐसा मैं कहता हूँ। But who avoids all these faults, he becomes practiser of right vows among the monks. He is worshipped like nectar in this world and becomes propiliator (311745) of both worlds-this world and the next. (21)
