पडिलेहेइ पमत्ते से किंचि हु निसामिया । गुरुं परिभावए निच्चं पावसमणे त्ति वुच्चई ॥१०॥
इधर-इधर की बातें सुनता हुआ जो प्रमत्त होकर प्रतिलेखना करता है और सदा गुरुजनों का तिरस्कार करता है, वह पाप- श्रमण कहलाता है ||१०||
Who inspects his possessions (cloth, earthenwares etc.) hearing the useless talks so becoming careless and even slights elder monks, he is called a sinful sage. (10)
बहुमाई पमुहरे, थद्धे लुद्धे अणिग्गहे । असंविभागी अचियत्ते. पावसमणे ति वुच्चई ॥११॥
अत्यधिक कपट युक्त, अत्यधिक बोलने वाला, ढीठ, लुब्ध, इन्द्रियों और मन पर उचित नियंत्रण न रखने वाला, प्राप्त वस्तुओं का संविभाग नहीं करने वाला तथा गुरु आदि के प्रति प्रेम न रखने वाला पापश्रमण कहलाता है ॥ ११॥
Who is too much deceitful, too much talkative, arrogant, greedy, does not properlry control his mind and senses, shares not with his fellow monks the receipts (food drinks etc.,) gotten from householders, and not of amiable position to teachers etc., he is called a sinful sage. (11)
विवादं च उदीरेइ, अहम्मे अत्तपन्नहा । वुग्गहे कलहे रत्ते, पावसमणे त्ति वुच्चई ॥१२॥
शान्त हुए विवाद को पुनः पुनः भड़काने वाला, अधर्म का आचरण करने वाला, विग्रह - कदाग्रह - कलह में रत रहने वाला पाप श्रमण कहलाता है ॥१२॥
Who insinuates the pacified disputes ever and anon, practise unrighteousness, delights in quarrels and contentions, he is called a sinful sage. (12)
अथिरासणे कुक्कुईए, जत्थ तत्थ निसीयई ।
आसणम्मि अणाउत्ते, पावसमणे त्ति वुच्चई ॥ १३॥ -
जो अस्थिर आसन वाला है - अर्थात् व्यर्थ ही इधर-उधर चक्कर काटता रहता है। भांडों जैसी कुचेष्टा करने वाला, जहाँ-तहाँ सचित्त स्थान पर भी बैठ जाने वाला इस प्रकार आसन के विषय में असावधान रहने वाला पाप श्रमण कहा जाता है ||१३||
Who sits down on an unstable and creating the sound seat or moves hither and thither without purpose, even sits on the place which is not lifeless, thus remains careless about seat, makes bad demeanour of face and other organs of body like clowns (भांड़ों जैसी कुचेष्टा), he is called a sinful sage. (13)
ससरक्खपाए सुवई, सेज्जं न पडिलेहइ ।
संथारए अणाउत्ते, पावसमणे त्ति वुच्चई ॥१४॥
जो रज-धूल से भरे सने पैरों से सो जाता है, शैया का प्रतिलेखन नहीं करता है, संस्तारक - बिछौने के संबंध में असावधान होता है, वह पाप श्रमण कहलाता है || १४ ||
