चतुर्दश अध्ययन [ १७०
भोगे भोच्चा वमित्ता य, भूयविहारिणो । आमोयमाणा गच्छन्ति, दिया कामकमा इव ॥४४॥
भोगों को भोगकर तथा यथावसर उनका वमन करके आत्मगवेषी मुमुक्षु साधक वायु की भाँति लघुभूत होकर अप्रतिबद्ध विहार करते हैं। अपनी इच्छानुसार, पक्षियों के समान आत्मार्थी पुरुष आमोद पूर्वक विचरण करते हैं ॥४४॥
Having enjoyed the pleasures and at the right time vomiting them; the self-seeker, salvation-willing adept becoming light as air, wander like an unchecked breeze. Like birds, according to their will, the soul-fixed persons move with delight. ( 44 )
इमे य बद्धा फन्दन्ति मम हत्थऽज्जमागया । वयं च सत्ता कामेसु, भविस्सामो जहा इमे ॥४५॥
हमारे हाथ में आये हुए और विविध प्रकार से सुरक्षित किये गये ये काम - भोग क्षणिक हैं। अभी हम इनमें आसक्त हैं। लेकिन जिस प्रकार पुरोहित परिवार इन्हें त्यागकर मुक्त हुआ है वैसे ही हम भी होंगे ॥४५ ॥
The pleasures now in our hand and preserved by various ways-all these are transient. Still now we are indulged in them. But as the family of Purohita became free renouncing these, so we would also become. ( 45 )
सामिसं कुललं दिस्स, बज्झमाणं निरामिसं ।
आमि सव्वमुज्झित्ता, विहरिस्सामि निरामिसा ॥४६॥
मांस सहित पक्षी - गीध को अन्य मांसलोलुपी पक्षियों द्वारा पीड़ित किये जाते हुए तथा मांस रहित होने पर उसी पक्षी को निराकुल देखकर मैं भी मांस के समान इन सभी काम भोगों को त्यागकर तथा भोगरूप मांस से रहित होकर विचरण करूँगी ||४६ ॥

Watching the vulture with flesh, being harrassed by other flesh-voracious birds and when that becomes without flesh, seeing the same vulture unharrassed, I also wander as a nun renouncing all the pleasures and possessions, which are like flesh. (46)
गिद्धोवमे उ नच्चाणं, का संसारवड्ढणे | उरगो सुवणपासे व संकमाणो तणुं चरे ॥४७॥
संसार - वृद्धि के हेतु काम-भोगों को गीध के समान जानकर उनसे उसी प्रकार शंकित होकर चलना चाहिए जैसे सर्प गरुड़ से शंकित होकर चलता है ॥ ४७ ॥
Acknowledging the worldly pleasures like a vulture with flesh and the causes of increasing the cycle of births and deaths; one should always be doubtful as the snake moves being suspicious of a large eagle. (47)
नागो व्व बन्धणं छित्ता, अप्पणो वसहिं वए । एयं पत्थं महारायं ! उसुयारि ति मे सुयं ॥ ४८ ॥
