म जम्बूद्वीप का स्वरूप NATURE OF JAMBU ISLAND * २११. [प्र. ] जम्बुद्दीवे णं भन्ते ! दीवे किं पुढवि-परिणामे, आउ-परिणामे, जीव-परिणामे, पोग्गल-परिणामे ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! पुढवि–परिणामेवि, आउ-परिणामेवि, जीव-परिणामेवि, पोग्गल-परिणामेवि।
[प्र.] जम्बुद्दीवे णं भन्ते ! दीवे सब्ब-पाणा, सव्व-जीवा, सव्व-भूआ, सव्व-सत्ता, पुढविकाइअत्ताए, आउकाइअत्ताए, तेउकाइअत्ताए, वाउकाइअत्ताए, वणस्सइकाइअत्ताए उववण्णपुवा ? ॐ [उ. ] हंता गोयमा ! असई अहवा अणंतखुत्तो।
२११. [प.] भगवन् ! क्या जम्बूद्वीप पृथ्वी-परिणाम-पृथ्वीपिण्डमय है, क्या अप्म परिणाम-जलपिण्डमय है, क्या जीव–परिणाम-जीवमय है, क्या पुद्गल-परिणाम-पुद्गलस्कन्धमय है?
[उ. ] गौतम ! पर्वतादि युक्त होने से पृथ्वीपिण्डमय भी है, नदी, झील आदि युक्त होने से ॥ जलपिण्डमय भी है, वनस्पति आदि युक्त होने से जीवमय भी है, मूर्त होने से पुद्गलपिण्डमय भी है। __[प्र.] भगवन् ! क्या जम्बूद्वीप में सर्वप्राण-द्वीन्द्रिय, त्रीन्द्रिय तथा चतुरिन्द्रिय जीव, सर्वजीव-पंचेन्द्रिय जीव, सर्वभूत-वृक्ष (वनस्पति जीव), सर्वसत्त्व-पृथ्वी, जल, अग्नि तथा वायु के
जीव-ये सब पृथ्वीकायिक के रूप में, अप्कायिक के रूप में, तेजस्कायिक के रूप में, वायुकायिक के रूप + में तथा वनस्पतिकायिक के रूप में पूर्वकाल में उत्पन्न हुए हैं ?
[उ. ] हाँ, गौतम ! वे अनेक बार अथवा अनन्त बार उत्पन्न हुए हैं।
211. [Q.] Reverend Sir ! Is Jambu island in the nature of earth ? Is it in the shape of water? Is it in the form of living beings? Is it in the from ॐ of matter (Pudgal Skandh)?
(Ans.] Gautam ! Since there are mountains and the like in Jambu island, it is in the form of earth also. Further there are rivers, lakes and the line in it. So it is in the shape of water also. It has vegetation and the like. So it is in the form of living beings also. It has definite visible shape. So it is in the nature of matter-a chester of pudgal also.
[Q.] Reverend Sir ! Have the living beings namely two-sensed, threesensed for-sensed living being, all the living beings namely five-sensed living being, trees and plants (the plant bodied living beings) the earthbodied living beings, the fire-bodied living beings and the air-bodied
living beings now in Jambu island taken birth in earlier period as earthki bodied, water-bodied, fire-bodied, air-bodied and plant-bodied living
beings?
