। पाउणिहित्ता मासियाए संलेहणाए अप्पाणं झूसित्ता, सहि भत्ताई अणसणाए छेदित्ता,
आलोइयपडिक्कते, समाहिपत्ते कालमासे कालं किच्चा बंभलोए कप्पे देवत्ताए • उववज्जिहिति। । तत्थ णं अत्थेगइयाणं देवाणं दस सागरोवमाई ठिई पण्णत्ता। तत्थ णं अम्मडस्स वि 'देवस्स दस सागरोवमाई ठिई।
१००. भगवन् ! अम्बड़ परिव्राजक मृत्युकाल आने पर देह त्यागकर कहाँ जायेगा? कहाँ उत्पन्न होगा? ____ गौतम ! यह अम्बड़ परिव्राजक-विशेष तथा सामान्य प्रकार से शीलव्रत, गुणव्रत, विरमण, प्रत्याख्यान एवं पौषधोपवास द्वारा आत्मा को भावित करता हुआ बहुत वर्षों तक
श्रमणोपासक-पर्याय का पालन करेगा। पालन करता हुआ अन्त में एक मास की संलेखना | धारण कर और साठ भक्त-एक मास का अनशन सम्पन्न कर, गृहीत व्रतों की आलोचना,
प्रतिक्रमण कर, मृत्युकाल आने पर समाधिपूर्वक देह त्याग करेगा। देह त्यागकर वह । ब्रह्मलोक (पंचम देवलोक) में देव रूप में उत्पन्न होगा। वहाँ अनेक देवों की आयु-स्थिति । दश सागरोपम प्रमाण बतालाई गई। अम्बड़ देव का भी आयुष्य दस सागरोपम प्रमाण होगा। FUTURE REINCARNATIONS OF AMBAD
100. Bhante ! At the time of his death, abandoning this body, where will Ambad Parivrajak go ? Where will he reincarnate ?
Gautam ! Ambad Parivrajak will live for many years as shramanopasak (ascetic worshipping householder) enkindling (bhaavit) his soul by observing the vows of self denial and restraints, renunciation, partial asceticism and fasting. Finally he will take the ultimate vow (samlekhana) for a month and observe month-long fasting doing critical review of the observed vows. Doing so, at the end time of death, he will abandon this earthly body in the state of meditation. Abandoning this body he will reincarnate as a god in the ce Brahma-lok (the fifth dev-lok). There the life-span of many gods is said to be ten Sagaropam (a metaphoric unit of time). The life-span of Ambad Dev will also be ten Sagaropam (a metaphoric unit of time).
१०१. से णं भंते ! अम्मडे देवे ताओ देवलोगाओ आउक्खएणं, भवक्खएणं, ठिइक्खएणं, अणंतरं चयं चइत्ता कहिं गच्छिहिति, कहिं उववज्जिहिति ?
