accepting good and rejecting evil. Along with the explanation of vivek you have ordained abstainment of harming and killing of beings and other great vows. In defining abstainment you have included instruction not to indulge in sinful activities. There is no other Shraman or Brahmin in present times who could expound such perfect religion (dharma), what to say of a better one." Thus expressing gratitude, the congregation dispersed and everyone returned in the direction he came from.
६०. तए णं से कूणिए राया भंभसारपुत्ते समणस्स भगवओ महावीरस्स अंतिए धम्मं सोच्चा, णिसम्म हट्ठतुट्ठ जाव हियए उट्ठाए उट्ठेइ, उट्ठित्ता समणं भगवं महावीरं तिक्खुत्तो आयाहिणं पयाहिणं करेइ, करित्ता वंदइ णमंसइ, वंदित्ता णमंसित्ता एवं वयासी" सुक्खाए ते भंते! निग्गंथे पावयणे जाव किमंग पुण एत्तो उत्तरतरं ?" एवं वंदित्ता जामेव दिसं पाइब्भूए, तामेव दिसं पडिगए ।
६०. तत्पश्चात् भंभसार पुत्र राजा कूणिक श्रमण भगवान से धर्म का श्रवण कर मन में अत्यन्त सन्तुष्ट एवं आनन्दित हुआ। वह अपने स्थान से उठा । उठकर श्रमण भगवान महावीर को तीन बार आदक्षिण- प्रदक्षिणा की। वन्दन - नमस्कार किया । वन्दन - नमस्कार करके इस प्रकार बोला- “भगवन् ! आपने निर्ग्रथ प्रवचन का कथन अतीव सुन्दर रूप में किया। यह निर्ग्रथ प्रवचन - ( जिनधर्म), अनुत्तर - सर्वश्रेष्ठ है । ( आपने धर्म की व्याख्या करते हुए उपशम-क्रोध आदि के यावत् सूत्र ५९ के अनुसार समग्र पाठ यहाँ भी समझना ) दूसरा कोई श्रमण या ब्राह्मण नहीं है, जो ऐसे धर्म का उपदेश कर सके। इससे श्रेष्ठ धर्म के उपदेश की तो बात ही कहाँ ?" यों इस प्रकार प्रभु की स्तुति करके वह जिस दिशा से आया था, उसी दिशा में वापस चला गया।
60. Thereafter, king Kunik, the son of Bhambhasar, contented and blissful on hearing the sermon of Shraman Bhagavan, got up from his seat. He went around Shraman Bhagavan Mahavir three times clockwise and paid homage and obeisance. He then submitted-"Bhagavan! You have expressed the Nirgranth tenets very eloquently... and so on up to (as in aphorism 59 ) ... There is no other Shraman or Brahmin in present times who could expound such perfect religion (dharma), what to say of a better one." Saying so, he returned in the direction he came from.
