प्रथम दशा
हिन्दीभाषाटीकासहितम् ।
टीका - इस सूत्र में यह बात स्पष्ट की गई है कि आवश्यकता से अधिक शय्या व पट्टकादि न रखने चाहियें; क्योंकि प्रमाण - युक्त वस्तुओं की ही रक्षा और शुद्धि विधि - पूर्वक हो सकती है, उस से अधिक की नहीं । जिन वस्तुओं की यथोचित रीति से प्रमार्जना व रक्षा नहीं सकती, उन में अनेक प्रकार के जीव उत्पन्न हो जाते हैं । जब आसनादि उपकरणों में कीटादि जन्तु उत्पन्न हो जायेंगे, तो 'आत्म-विराधना' और संयम विराधना के कारण सहज में ही उत्पन्न हो जाएंगे और उनका परिणाम उभय लोक में अहित-कर होगा । इतना ही नहीं किन्तु असमाधि द्वारा संसार-चक्र में परिभ्रमण करना पड़ेगा ।

इस सूत्र से प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को शिक्षा लेनी चाहिए कि प्रमाण पूर्वक वस्तुसेवन असमाधि का कारण नहीं होता । जैसे प्रमाणपूर्वक भोजन किया रोग का कारण नहीं होता ।
इस प्रकार 'आदान- मात्र - भाण्डोपकरण- समिति' का वर्णन कर सूत्रकार अब 'भाषा समिति' का विषय वर्णन करते हैं
रातिणिअ- परिभासी ।। ५ ।।
रात्निक परिभाषी ।। ५ ।।
पदार्थान्वयः - रातिणिअ - रत्नाकर के प्रति, परिभासी - परिभाषण करना ।
मूलार्थ - गुरु आदि वृद्धों के सामने भाषण करना ।
टीका - इस सूत्र में यह दिखाया गया है कि वृद्धों के साथ किस प्रकार का व्यवहार करना चाहिए । जो व्यक्ति वृद्धों से सभ्यता का व्यवहार करता है, उसको समाधि - स्थान की प्राप्ति होती रहती है । इसके विपरीत रात्निक - आचार्य, उपाध्याय, अन्य स्थविर तथा श्रुत - पर्याय और दीक्षादि में वृद्ध साधुओं का तिरस्कार करने वाला, उनसे शिक्षा प्राप्त कर उनका ही पराभव करने वाला, उनके लिए अपमान-सूचक शब्द प्रयोग करने वाला, उनकी जाति आदि को लेकर उनका उपहास (हँसी) करने वाला, उनसे प्राप्त पवित्र शिक्षा में तर्क वितर्क करने वाला तथा निरन्तर उनकी निन्दा में कटिबद्ध रहने वाला सदैव असमाधि-भाजन होता है ।
इसके अतिरिक्त इससे 'आत्म-विराधना' व 'संयम - विराधना' के कारण उपस्थित हो जाते हैं जिसका परिणाम उभय-लोक में अहितकर होता हैं । अत एव समाधि - इच्छुक आत्माओं को 'वाक्य समिति' का अवश्य ध्यान रखना चाहिए ।

On the contrary, the Ratnik - Acharya, Upadhyaya, other elders, and those who are learned and initiated, who despise the elder monks, who learn from them and then try to defeat them, who use insulting words towards them, who make fun of their caste, etc., who argue about the sacred teachings received from them, and who are constantly engaged in their slander, are always subject to lack of concentration.

In addition to this, 'self-contradiction' and 'restraint contradiction' arise due to this, which results in harm in both worlds. Therefore, souls desiring concentration must pay attention to the 'committee of speech'.
