दशाश्रुतस्कन्धसूत्रम्
यदि कोई कहे कि क्या श्री श्रमण भगवान् महावीर की परिषद् में इस प्रकार के निर्बल - आत्मा साधु भी थे जिन्होंने उक्त क्रिया की ? उत्तर में कहा जाता है कि बहुत से आत्माओं पर मोहनीय कर्म की प्रकृतियां अपना काम कर जाती हैं इसमें कोई भी आश्चर्य की बात नहीं किन्तु इतना होने पर भी यदि उनका मन फिर सावधान हो जाय तो उनकी शूरता, वीरता और श्री श्रमण भगवान् महावीर स्वामी के वचनों पर दृढ़ता सिद्ध होती है, क्योंकि उन्होंने श्री भगवान् के उपदेश को सुनकर सभा के समक्ष अपनी आत्मा की विशुद्धि की । ऐसी अवस्था में जब वह ग्यारहवें गुण स्थान से भी नीचे आ जाता है तो छठे और उससे पूर्व स्थानों की तो बात ही क्या है ।
इस सूत्र से साधु और साध्वियों की विश्वास दृढ़ता और ऋजुता ( सरलपन) भली भांति सिद्ध हो जाती है, जो कि साधुता का परम गुण है ।
दशमी दशा
इस सूत्र से यह शिक्षा मिलती है कि यदि किसी को कोई गुप्त या प्रकट दोष लग गया हो तो अपने वृद्धों के पास उसकी आलोचना करके अपनी आत्मा की अच्छी तरह विशुद्धि कर लेनी चाहिए । जिस प्रकार मुनियों ने अपनी आत्मा की विशुद्धि श्री भगवान् के पास की ।
अब सूत्रकार प्रस्तुत का उपसंहार करते हुए कहते हैं:
तेणं कालेणं तेणं समएणं समणे भगवं महावीरे रायगिहे नगरे गुणसिलए चेइए बहूणं समणाणं बहूणं समणीणं बहूणं सावयाणं बहूणं सावियाणं बहूणं देवाणं बहूणं देवीणं सदेवमणुयासुराए परिसाए मज्झगए एवमाइक्खति एवं भासति एवं परूवेति आयतिठाणं णामं अज्जो ! अज्झयणं सअट्टं सहेउं सकारणं सुत्तं च अत्थं च तदुभयं च भुज्जो२ उवदंसेति । त्तिबेमि ।
आयतिठाणे णामं दसमी दसा समत्ता ।
