मूलार्थ-इसके अनन्तर जब कन्या बाल-भाव को छोड़ कर विज्ञान में परिपक्व हो जाती है और युवावस्था में पदार्पण करती है तो उसके माता-पिता तदुचित दहेज के साथ उसको उसके समान भर्ता को दे देते हैं | वह उसकी भार्या हो जाती है । वह अपने पति की प्रेयसी और वल्लभा होती है । वह रत्नों की पेटी के समान मनोहर और प्यारी होती है । जिस समय वह घर के भीतर और घर के बाहर जाती है तो उसके साथ अनेक दास और दासियां होते हैं और वे प्रार्थना में रहते हैं कि आपको कौन सा पदार्थ रुचिकर है । ___टीका-जब वह कन्या बाल-भाव को छोड़कर युवावस्था में पदार्पण करती है और बुद्धिमती तथा ज्ञान-शालिनी हो जाती है तब उसके माता-पिता उसको युवती हुई जान कर अपने समान कुल और शील वाले किसी युवक को, तदुचित दहेज के साथ भार्या-रूप से दे देते हैं । उस दिन से वह उसकी भार्या हो जाती है। उसकी कोई सपत्नी नहीं होती । वह अपने पति की प्रेयसी और प्राण-प्रिया होकर रहती है । शेष सब वर्णन मूलार्थ में स्पष्ट है ।
सूत्र में “पडिरूवेण सुक्केणं पडिरूवस्स भत्तारस्स” वाक्य का अर्थ इस प्रकार है-"प्रतिरूपेण-स्वरूपत उभयकुलोचितेन पाणिग्रहणसमये, शुल्केन-देयधनादिना सह, प्रतिरूपाय-रूपवयः प्रभृतिगुणेषु समानाय भत्रे भार्यातया दत्तः (पितरौ) ।
अब सूत्रकार वर्णन करते हैं कि इस निदान कर्म करने का उसके धर्म पर क्या प्रभाव पड़ाः
तीसे णं तहप्पगाराए इत्थियाए तहारूवे समणे माहणे वा उभय-कालं केवलि-पण्णत्तं धम्म आइक्खेज्जा? हंता ! आइक्खेज्जा, सा णं भंते! पडिसुणेज्जा णो इणढे समढे, अभविया णं सा तस्स धम्मस्स सवणयाए, सा च भवति महिच्छा, महारंभा, महा-परिग्गहा अहम्मिया जाव दाहिणगामिए णेरइए

She is his beloved and cherished one. She is beautiful and charming like a box of jewels. When she goes inside and outside the house, many servants and maids accompany her, and they ask, "What do you desire?"

**Teeka:** When the girl leaves childhood and enters youth, becoming intelligent and knowledgeable, her parents, recognizing her as a young woman, give her to a young man of similar lineage and character, as his wife, with a proper dowry. From that day, she becomes his wife. She has no co-wife. She remains his beloved and cherished one. The rest of the description is clear in the Mulaartha.

The phrase "Padiruven Sukkenam Padiruvasa Bhattaraasa" in the Sutra means: "With a suitable form, at the time of the hand-holding ceremony, with a dowry (Shulka), given to a suitable husband (Bhatra) who is equal in form, age, and other qualities."

She will not hear the teachings of the Indha and Samadha. She will be devoted to the Dharma. She will be full of desires, ambitions, and attachments, and will be caught in the cycle of rebirth."
