सुरूवे-रूप-सम्पन्न होता है तते णं-इसके अनन्तर से-वह दारए-दारक उम्मुक्क-बाल-भावे -बाल-भाव को छोड़कर विण्णाय-परिणयमित्ते विज्ञान में परिपक्व होकर और जोवणगमणुपत्ते-यौवन को प्राप्त कर सयमेव अपने आप ही पेइयं-पैतृक दाय भाग को पडिवज्जति-प्राप्त कर लेता है फिर तस्स णं-उसके अतिजायमाणस्स-घर में प्रवेश करते हुए पुरओ-आगे महं-बहुत से दासी-दास-दास और दासियां जाव-यावत् किं-क्या ते-आपके आसगस्स-मुख को सदति-अच्छा लगता है इत्यादि प्रार्थना करने के लिए तत्पर रहते हैं।
मूलार्थ-वह वहां रूप-सम्पन्न और सुकुमार हाथ-पैर वाला बालक होता है । तदनन्तर वह बाल-भाव को छोड़कर विज्ञ-भाव और यौवन को प्राप्त कर अपने आप ही पैतृक सम्पत्ति का अधिकारी बन जाता है । फिर वह घर में प्रवेश करते हुए (और घर से बाहर निकलते हुए) अनेक दास और दासियों से घिरा रहता है और वे दास और दासियां पूछते हैं कि श्रीमान् को कौन सा पदार्थ अच्छा लगता है ।
टीका-इस सूत्र में निदान कर्म का फल दर्शाया गया है । जब वह उक्त कुलों में से किसी एक कुल में बालक-रूप से उत्पन्न होता है तो उसकी आकृति अत्यन्त सुन्दर होती है और हाथ और पैर अत्यन्त सुकुमार होते हैं । वह नाना प्राकर के स्वास्तिकादि लक्षणों से अलंकृत होता है । उसका अवयव-संस्थान संगठित होता है । उसका शरीर सर्वांग-परिपूर्ण होता है । वह चन्द्रवत् प्रिय-दर्शन होता है । सौभाग्य-सम्पन्न होने से वह प्रत्येक जन को आकर्षण करने वाला होता है | उसमें बुद्धि विशेष होती है जो हर एक कार्य में सफल होती है, अतः वह विज्ञानपूर्ण या विज्ञक हो जाता है । जब वह युवा होता है तब अपने आप ही पैतृक सम्पत्ति को ग्रहण कर उसका स्वामी बन जाता है । फिर वह घर में प्रवेश करते समय और घर से बाहर निकलते समय किसी कार्य के लिए एक सेवक को बुलाता है तो चार या पांच बिना कहे ही उपस्थित हो जाते हैं और उसके मुख से निकली हुई आज्ञा को पालन करने में अपना सौभाग्य समझते हैं और प्राप्त आज्ञा का तत्काल पालन करते हैं तथा और आज्ञाओं को सुनने के लिए सदैव उत्सुक रहते हैं । कहते हैं कि हे स्वामिन् ! आपको किस पदार्थ की रुचि है हम हमेशा आपकी सेवा
