देवा-देव देवलोगंसि-देव-लोक में न-नहीं दिवा-देखे हैं अयं-यह खलु-निश्यय से सक्खं-साक्षात् देवे-देव है । अतः जइ-यदि इमस्स-इस तव-तप नियम-नियम और बंभचेर-गुत्ति-ब्रह्मचर्य-गुप्ति का फलवित्ति-फलवृत्ति विसेसे अस्थि-विशेष है तया-तो वयमवि-हम भी आगमेस्साई-आगामी काल में इमाइं-इन ताई-उन उरालाइं-उदार एयारूवाइं-इस प्रकार के माणुस्सगाई-मनुष्य-सम्बन्धी भोगभोगाई-भोगों को भुंजमाणा-भोगते हुए विहरामो-विचरेंगे । से तं-यही साहु-ठीक है ।
मूलार्थ-आश्चर्य है कि श्रेणिक राजा अत्यन्त ऐश्वर्य वाला और सम्पूर्ण सुखों का अनुभव करने वाला है, जिसने स्नान, बलिकर्म, कौतुक, मङ्गल और प्रायश्चित किया है तथा सब प्रकार के भूषणों से अलंकृत होकर चेल्लणादेवी के साथ सर्वोत्तम काम-भोगों को भोगता हुआ विचरण कर रहा है । यदि इस तप, नियम और ब्रह्मचर्य गुप्ति का कोई फलवृत्ति विशेष है तो हम भी भविष्यत् काल में इस प्रकार के उदार काम-भोगते हुए विचरेंगे । यह हमारा विचार बहुत उत्तम है | ___टीका-इस सूत्र में वर्णन किया गया है कि श्रेणिक राजा को देख कर मुनियों ने क्या आध्यात्मिक विचार किया । आध्यात्मिक वृत्ति में दो प्रकार के संकल्प होते हैं-ध्यानात्मक और चिन्तात्मक । यहां पर चिन्तात्मक संकल्पों का वर्णन किया गया है । चिन्तात्मक संकल्प भी दो प्रकार के होते हैं-अभिलाषात्मक और केवल-चिन्तात्मक | यहां मुनियों में अभिलाषात्मक संकल्पों का उत्पन्न होना बताया गया है । जैसे-महाराजा श्रेणिक को देखकर उपस्थित मुनि सोचने लगे कि इस राजा के पास अन्य साधारण परिवारों की अपेक्षा उच्च भवन और अत्यधिक धन-धान्य है, अतः यह बड़े ऐश्वर्य वाला है | बहुत से आभूषणों के पहनने से इसका मुख कान्ति-पूर्ण है | यह शरीर से हृष्ट-पुष्ट और बलवान् है । इसका यश सर्वत्र छा रहा है । इसको किसी भी सुख की कमी नहीं है, अतः यह महासुखी है | यह स्नान, बलि-कर्म, कौतुक, मङ्गल और प्रायश्चित्त कर तथा अनेक अमूल्य आभूषणों से विभूषित होकर चेल्लणादेवी के साथ उत्तम शब्दादि काम भोगों को भोगता हुआ विचरण कर रहा है । वे सोचने लगे कि हमने आज तक देव-लोक में देवों को नहीं देखा हमें तो यही साक्षात् देव जंचते हैं । उन्होंने फिर विचारा कि यदि हमारे ग्रहण किये हुए इस तप, नियम और ब्रह्मचर्य-गुप्ति आदि का कुछ
